I am a fan (and you should be too), because...
Daughtry made me expand my taste in music. I met Chris before backstage at Atlantic City, New Jersey while he was on tour with American Idol and to be honest I wasn't a fan of his. I remember having my iron on Ace t-shirt ( I'm still a huge fan of Ace Young and just saw him perform at the Griffins hockey game at Grand Rapids). My sister brought Chris a gift which included a wrist band that said " You looked better on myspace". I really didn't understand why she liked him so much. I knew he was a rocker and I did enjoy him performing songs like hemorrhage and so forth while on the show but that was as far as it went. Soon after I took my cd player to work and found that my sister had her Daughtry c.d. in it. It was mad hot. I had to get my own cd. I was like what the hell I actually like rock music. I like the beats of the songs on the cd but more importantly I like what Daughtry says.
Besides breakdown, home, over you, and crashed, all these lives in my favorite song.To be honest I always hear about children being kidnapped regularly on 20/20 and I always look at the missing children pictures posted on the Walmart bullentin board, but I really didn't take notice until I heard this song. In the song it seemed like Daughtry was saying children abduction is an epidemic. According to lostchildren.org more than 350,000 family abductions occur in the U.S. each year, which is nearly 1,000 a day. Daughtry makes me more aware of problems just by listening to the lyrics. They have the ability to play on words to make me see almost like a picture as to what is going on. In a nutshell I'm not really a rock head but I do like this group a lot. They make me think outside of what I normally dwell on to be a fan and tell people about them so they might be able to like other music. I'm converted lol.
