I am a fan (and you should be too), because...Chris Daughtry is ELECTRIC!!! From the moment you hear him sing, weather a Capella or backed by his awesome band, you immediately say that boy’s got talent. When I first saw him on American Idol, he was my immediate pick to follow and I swore he would win. He has a raw but endearing sound that makes him stand out of the rock pack and gives him an edge that will make him a superstar. You can’t help but love his music from the hit “It’s Not Overâ€, to my personal fav’s “Over You†and “All These Livesâ€, and feel every word. His heart that is true to his family is now just as true to his fans, and it’s something hard to find among the rockers of yesterday and today. You can feel him when he sings, understand what went into the song, and sink into the moment. I’ve listened to his debut album 40 to 50 times and every time I hear something different, from a different guitar chord to subtle nuances of the lyric he wants you to understand. He’s an accomplished singer-songwriter, was lead to his former band Absent Element, who still has a good following and wishes him well. He’s an amazing individual and is proof to the old adage “You get what you pay for†and by that I mean he’s paid his dues, worked hard, fought for what he wanted, and NEVER gave up. He believes in people, you can tell that from his character, pushing people to go after their dreams, and he clearly shows everyone that hard work pays off. I would love to meet him and the band, ask a couple questions about his album, but mainly I would just like to shake his hand and say thank you for showing us that dreams do come true. I have NEVER been so in to a band like i am into Daughtry. I'm a 32 year old guy who is now for the first time getting the fanatical feeling that normally accompanies teenage years. This band invokes feelings that i've never felt from any album. Believe me as I type this i feel a little silly, but i have to be honest, they move me deeply. Daughtry seems to have a finger on the pulse of new rock. I don't mean to sound like i'm deifying this band, but other fans i talk to feel the same as I, so it must be real. As my eyes well up with tears I’ll end this by saying, “He is the embodiment of the American dream that nothing worth anything comes easy, but if you work hard, you will get what you rightly deserve.†My family and I love you guys. Be careful on the road and I hope i can get to see you in this intimate venue!!!
