I am a fan (and you should be too), because...

I have sat here and wrote, erased, wrote more and erased just to try to come up with exactly the right words to explain this one statement…”I am a fan of Daughtry’s.” How do you capture the specific reasons why you idolize a certain group of people? I’ve contemplated so many things to say and have (honestly) even thought about what would be the right things to say just to win VIP tickets, but in the end it’s only important to be honest in what I write. So I have decided that I’m writing this not just for VIP tickets, but to let Daughtry and the rest of those who may come across this know the real reason why I am such a huge fan of Daughtry’s and why they should be too (if they aren’t already).

Like I said before, it is so hard to put in plain words all the reasons why I am a fan of Daughtry’s. So what I write is only a few of the many reasons why this band means so much to me. What is a fan anyway? A fan, according to the dictionary, is “a person marked or motivated by an extreme unreasoning enthusiasm.” With that stated, I definitely fit the definition of a fan of Daughtry. Why though? I think the most important thing that has drawn me to this band is the lead singer, Chris Daughtry. From Absent Element, Cadence, American Idol, and all the way to reaching #1 on the billboard charts with Daughtry, this man is amazing. Chris Daughtry is not like your normal arrogant celebrity that is just in it for the money, fame, and free stuff. Chris Daughtry is as humble as they come. When I see or hear his voice, I don’t only see this amazing celebrity that’s making it huge, I see a wonderful devoted husband and father, I even see a friend. I have never met Chris Daughtry, but by watching and listening to him, you know that he is an astonishing person that you could probably sit and talk to for hours just exchanging family stories!!! I am a young woman, engaged to be married to a man who has 3 children from a previous marriage…I can only hope that our marriage and relationship with each of these 3 children turn out the way Chris and his family are. Though it is known that no single person is perfect, throughout everything, Chris and his family have stood together in a union of support and I hope that my life offers the same. Not only does this man emit such a remarkable amount of qualities, we can not ignore his amazing vocal talent, his electrifying performances, and his touching lyrics. Speaking of lyrics, have you ever sat down and listened to the entire Daughtry CD? It’s like a journey, taking you from story to story, allowing you to feel as if you are actually in the song. That is one of my favorite things about being a Daughtry fan…I can listen to the CD over and over and just get lost in the lyrics. My current favorite on the Daughtry album is “Over You,” which I’d have to agree with Chris as he said “it is like an anthem celebrating a break-up.” We all have been through them and this song helps make the healing process a little bit easier. I thought it was quite amusing when Chris stated “I had to give a disclaimer to my wife before she listened to this one.” Chris, Deanna knows you love her…we all know you do!!!!

Aside from Chris Daughtry, this band is full of other amazing talents. Without Jeremy Brady, Josh Steely, Joey Barnes, and Josh Paul, Daughtry wouldn’t be what they are today. As the success of this band continues to grow, I am sure it won’t be long before we know all the secrets about each and every member.

The final part to this entire text is “Why you should be a Daughtry fan too.” I really can’t give an answer to that. There is nothing that I can say to make an individual feel “extreme unreasoning enthusiasm,” but I can state that you are missing out if you are not a Daughtry fan. If you want to be a part of a collection of people from all over the world who idolizes this group that exudes honesty, charisma, gratitude, talent, and camaraderie, then you should seriously consider calling yourself a Daughtry fan. If you have a passion for music, pop in the Daughtry CD and take a journey which you will never want to end. And in the end…if none of this converts you into a Daughtry fan, then watch a clip of the band together. After seeing these men perform, their talent, their love for performing, and their love for each other, there is absolutely no way in the world that you would not feel “extreme enthusiasm” for Daughtry as a whole!!!

Daughtry is a band that has already reached #1 on the Billboard Charts, they have sold out many if not all of their concerts, and they are not going away anytime soon. Those who are not fans already, jump on the bandwagon now….if you don’t, I promise you will regret it in the end because you are missing out on the best band ever!!!!
