Where do you start to answer this question? First and foremost, the music is amazing. It spans generations (my dad just had to go buy his own copy after I let him borrow mine), its raw yet tender, and the album takes you an interesting ever changing musical journey. No song sounds like the next which is a huge feat in an age of cookie cutter pop rock. It is so rare to find an album that you can listen to over and over again without losing interest because each song has so many layers and so much heart.
And then there's Chris. A family man with a heart of gold and a rocker with lungs of steel. He is the ultimate contradiction. I started watching Idol becuase people kept telling me a man who looks just like my husband was on there, I had to see for myself. And it is true - they could be twins. How fortunate that he happened to be the best thing to ever happen on Idol, the voice we had all been waiting for for a long time and the personality that draws you in and makes you want to like him even more. It just fits perfectly. I have not been this over-the-top having to share my love of a band since I was in grade school. But Daughtry has created that type of giddy excitement in me again. Rock on boys. Thank you.
