Happy Birthday! I hope that 2008 is even more fun, prosperous and memorable than 2007!

"...this broken heart can still survive with a touch of your grace..."

While I was sitting here trying to concentrate on my work, I started thinking about how some of my friends think I'm crazy because of all of the live shows I go to and how strongly I support the music artists I like. I'm one of those people who buys cds on the day they are released, checks regularly for tour announcements, and jumps at the opportunity to see artists perform live. Sometimes I'll enthusiastically describe a lyric or a bridge or the way someone hits a certain note and my friends or family will just look at me blankly. Don't let me go see an artist more than once or buy a re-release of a cd - I'll get a full-blown lecture. "Why are you spending all of that money? You don't know them. All you're doing is supporting their family and lifestyle." I began to wonder whether or not music had become too integral a part of my life. "Maybe I am too into it," I thought. "Maybe there are better things to spend my money on. Maybe I should find some other interest to replace it."

Those thoughts didn't last long.

Hi Everyone!

Thanks again to everyone who offered their congratulatory remarks! A few people recognized me at the show, and I really can't remember all of you, so add me or PM me if you did.

Well, let's just say that the evening did not go as I imagined it. To start things off, I never heard back from anyone after Thursday, so I decided to just go up there early to see if the tickets were at will-call. I got lost and drove around the Navy campus for like half an hour before someone told me to go to some far parking lot and wait for the shuttle.

When I finally got to the arena, no one seemed to know anything about the meet and greet or the contest. There were no tickets under my name. It was made very clear that the band didn't have anything to do with the mix-up and that those affiliated with the band were expecting a VIP winner to be there. Apparently it had something to do with it being a military location and security issues.

Long story short, some miracle happened and I was able to get a ticket and get back to get a signed picture. Unfortunately I was not able to take any pictures with the guys; maybe next time!

The guys were really nice and I was absolutely thrilled to meet them, if only for a short time.

Of course, they totally rocked the show! They opened with "Crashed" and hit pretty much the whole cd. Chris did a couple of songs alone on the acoustic. Highlights for me were "Gone" and "What About Now?"

I know this has been extra-long, so I'll wrap it up, but PM me if you want more details. I met some really nice people (you know who you are!), and I had a great time sharing this experience with you all.

To Daughtry: Thank you so much for your kindness and sharing your time with me. Words can only insufficiently describe my excitement at having the opportunity to meet you guys. Hope to see you again!

"I'm better off without you, more than you know."

So the cat is out of the bag!

I can't wait for the show and will definitely post a recap of the night. I can't express my gratitude...thanks times a zillion!
