I am a fan (and you should be too), because...Chris Daughtry is absolutely AMAZING!!! I'm a pretty big American Idol fan but never before has a contestant impressed me so much as Chris Daughtry! I fell in love with him from his very first audition. Not only was he a brilliant vocalist but he seemed like such a genuine guy who cared so much about his family. I found it really inspiring to watch him chase after his dream. Week after week he impressed me so much with his daring song choices and powerful performances. He always managed to make the song his own and give it his own character. I voted for him every week for the whole two hours (getting in thousands of votes throughout the season...yes I know I have no life haha!) Of course I, along with millions, was shocked and devastated the night he got off the show but I now know that it truly was for the best. I got to meet Chris on the American Idol tour and he is truly one of the nicest people I have ever met! I spent close to $1,000 and basically two straight days of my life just to get the chance to meet him! My mom and I drove to New Hampshire and camped out for two whole days in the hot sun with no food or water just so I could get the chance to meet him. The first day we had no luck but on the second day at around 4 pm my dream finally came true!! A poptarts guy randomly gave my mom and me two meet and greet passes after seeing how dedicated I was with my Chris shirt!!! I was so excited that I was shaking so much and making a fool of myself!! I finally got to meet Chris and I gave him a duct tape wallet I had made just for him, then I said I was so nervous I thought I was gonna throw up and he's like "don't do that...come here let me give you a hug!" and he stood up and gave me a hug over the table!!! That was single-handedly one of the greatest moments of my entire life!! Just getting to meet this guy who I was such a huge fan of and getting to talk to him for even just a few minutes totally made my life!! While it was great getting to meet him I wish I had been calmer and gotten the chance to tell him how much his music means to me. I would absolutely LOVE the chance to get to meet him again and tell him how much his music has changed my life. He is always so gracious to his fans and takes the time to meet them and I would just love to be lucky enough to get to meet him again!! It would be simply amazing. As for his performance, Chris gives an AMAZING live performance. I've now become a fan of DAUGHTRY as a band because they seem like just a great bunch of guys and their music is superb! Their album is spectacular and every tv appearance I have seen by them has been flawless! I am absolutely dying to see them in concert one day and would definitely be up for taking a road trip to see them....I know it would be soooooo worth it! So yeah that's why I am a fan...you should be too!
