I am a fan (and you should be too), because...DAUGHTRY ROCKS! Well yes that is Daughtry simplified. It is so much more beautifully complicated than that. In this essay I will display my feelings and thoughts as to "Why I am a fan of Daughtry and you should be too." I hope these words that I write will showcase this in the utmost manner to Daughtry and whomever else chooses to read this.

I believed from the very beginning that this was going to be something special. I've followed Chris since his audition on American Idol. It was with this following that I became a Chris fan. It has now evolved into a Daughtry fan. My passion is music and Daughtry displays their passion for music in every song. Each song on the album reminds me of a time in my life. In my opinion Oscar Wilde said it best "Music is the art which is most nigh to tears and memory." Daughtry has found a way to correlate the art of music with tears and memory. This album contains a collection of songs that are about authentic, real life moments that most everyone has experienced on the never predictable road of life. "What About Now" reminds me of a love that could be so much more. "Home" reminds me of the wonderful family I have. "There And Back Again" is a good all around rock it out tune. Whether I've had a good or bad day there is a song to relate my emotion to. All the songs have their own special meaning to me and Chris' voice exudes each different emotion I've felt during those times. Chris' amazing voice combined with JP's awesome finger work on bass, Joey's heavy stick work on drums, Josh's electrifying lead guitar and Jeremy's rockin rhythm guitar (edit welcome Brian!), make for one well deserved Billboard #1 album. I am so proud of Chris and all the guys from Daughtry.

Now for the reasoning of why one should become a fan of Daughtry. In the CD liner towards the back there is a section titled "Thanks". I have read many of these over the years from many different bands. I can honestly say reading those words from Chris brought tears to my eyes. One can sense that he is very geniune, down to earth and truly thankful for the gift he has been given. As this journey progresses I feel as if I know Chris and all the members of Daughtry. Daughtry understands the importance of their fans and they have made every attempt to include and involve the fans as much as possible. This website, Daughtry Official, being such a great example. Never have I found a band to be so true to their fans and so true to making music simultaneously. This is why if one should join us fellow Daughtry fans I guarantee it will not be a disappointment.

I have not yet had the honor of meeting Chris or any of the band. However, I have had the honor of hearing all the wonderful stories of so many great Daughtry fans that have been fortunate to have met them. It is through these stories that I have met so many wonderful new friends. Daughtry's music speaks volumes and all I want is to just keep hearing it!
