I am a fan (and you should be too), because...
Well, I guess if your not a fan it can only mean one thing... You can't find the "ON" button of your radio!! Because it is obvious that you haven't heard Daughtry. So, look a little harder and listen. Trust me, you won't need my convincing. The music speaks for itself.
Hi, my name is Donna and I have a 10 year old daughter named Kyrianna. We have been along for the ride since we first saw Chris on American Idol. The very first time that we heard him sing, there was no doubt, he was our idol. There were a lot of talented singers on the show but Chris just had that certain something. I love the quiver (that's what I call it) that I hear in his voice when he hits certain notes. It gives me the chills. I can't really describe it but It's like being able to connect to the emotion of the words being sung. Anyway, call me crazy, but that's what got me hooked.
Ok, so we all know the man can belt out a tune. But as the weeks went on I loved getting to know Chris "the person". What I saw was a man who is down to earth, friendly, humble, determined, strong willed, talented, and genuine. It blows me away to see how much he loves and respects his family. Chris knows who he is and what he can be. Kudos, Chris for not letting anyone mold you into something your not.
Chris was going to be a star no matter what the outcome of A.I. But, being the fan that I am, I did my best to help out. I'm talking 5 family cell phones and a house phone constantly on redial for 2 hours every week. And yes, I cried, kicked and screamed when he was voted off but I knew that wouldn't be the last we saw of him. That kind of talent doesn't just disappear.
It inspires me to see how much Chris believes in himself and his music. As I see it, he could have taken an easier road to stardom by accepting the offer to be the lead singer of Fuel. I'm sure it was a great honor to be asked. And if he had accepted, Fuel would be on the top of my list. However, as much as I like Fuel, I am so glad he turned it down. I respect him for wanting to live his own dream from beginning to end, instead of putting himself in the middle of someone else's dream. Even if it would have meant instant fame.
Chris, I am so happy for you. You have taken many chances because you believe in your music, as do your fans. Now you have found your band. A synergy of the right people, the right chemistry, and the right ingredients to make up the incredibly talented and unique "Daughtry" You have the right guys behind you to make each of your dreams come true. The music you have made is awesome. We bought the CD as soon as it came out and can't stop playing it. I can't even pick a favorite song. I love them all and can connect with the words in each one.
I am proud to say that I am a Daughtry fan. I love to listen to your music and can't wait to see you in concert.
Well, I told myself I wasn't going to go on and on and on. But I love Daughtry so I did. So if I lost you in the somewhere in the middle. This will sum it up.....
