February 2006...Chris Daughtry tries out for American Idol...HELLO! I remember thinking "why hasn't this man been discovered before now???" Instantly millions of Americans feel the connection. Whether it's because you grew up in the "Rock" era of past decades or you're part of the new revival it doesn't matter because Chris is in touch with it. His gritty, grainy, gravelly (is that actually a word - who cares!) smokey voice churns up those teenage girl memories of Sammy Haggar and Bon Jovi. Am I having a mid-life crisis, I think not, I'm having a mid-life AWAKENING!
