I am a fan (and you should be too), because...
Chris Daughtry captivated me ever since his audition on "American Idol." I followed him on his journey since then and even when it ended on that night of May 10, 2006 (You all remember that, right?), I thought of it more as a jump-start on what would be a blessed and exciting career path for him. However, when Daughtry formed and burst onto the music scene months later, even I wasn't anticipating the THUNDEROUS impact they would have on the entire world. They continue to soar through the charts, they're getting a lot of great press, they're getting the proper and well-deserved recognition by media outlets, and they're even gaining fans overseas. They're getting all that while staying humble to their roots and kind to their fans. Chris, Joey, JP, Josh, and Jeremy are not only talented musicians, but all-around wonderful people. I love them as artists and as people.
I'm a Daughtry fan because their music is deep, inspiring, and appeals to all my emotions and feelings. "Home" is my favorite song on the album because I believe everyone around me can relate to it. When I listen to that song, I think of our nation's fighters, my friends away at college, and myself five years from now after I graduate and pursue my dreams. "All These Lives" sheds light on the heartbreaking issue of child abduction - the lyrics would reflect my feelings if I were ever in such a situation. "The day you turned on me was the day I died," from "Gone" is probably something broken-up lovers and sweethearts would indeed say or think. Of course, Daughtry has also given us head-banging anthems like "What I Want" and "There and Back Again." What's a rock band without a head-banger?
We're in an era where a lot of music is watered down and miscategorized. I'm a Daughtry fan because they're putting the ROCK back in "rock 'n roll." They are THE music. Daughtry is real, authentic, no-holds-barred rock music and they're real guys too...the perfect combo for the perfect band. That's why I'm a fan and you should be too. What are you waiting for? Get Daughtrified now!
