The definition of a fan(atic) in the dictionary can be summarized simply as "a person who is enthusiastic about a performer, sport, etc." By definition, yes that describes me...a person who is enthusiatic about my favorite band, Daughtry. But to me, it is so much more than that. I enjoy and follow many types of entertainers, whether thay be actors, musicians or sport stars but none that has captivated me as much as Daughtry has. It's something I cannot put into words and often I ask myself, "Why do I care as much as I do? Why do I let Daughtry affect me this way? In fact, some of my friends ask me that all of the time. "They are just a band" they say. Well Daughtry is not "just a band" to me...they are a piece of my life. Every time I read about, watch a video clip of a concert, hear a new Daughtry song on the radio for the first time, or see a video at number 1 on VH-1, I get butterflies in my stomach. It's kind of like when a member of the family accomplishes a lifelong dream..I beam with pride.I feel so proud to have been there from the beginning, knowing that I have contributed in some way to helping "my passion" live their dream. I cried tears of joy when the album sold over 300,000 copies in its first week, then again when it hit platinum, then again when it hit double platinum-- and well you get the point.
Chris sang his way into my heart a little over a year ago--and now it has evolved into a love of not just Chris, but for the 4 other wonderful guys who comprise the "brotherhood" that is Daughtry. There's JP, "the energizer bunny" whose zest for life and passion for music is infectious everytime he performs, Joey "the Southern gentleman ", a talented musician with boyish good looks and a heart of gold, Josh "the sweetheart", a true family man and an awesome guitar player, and Brian "the shy guy", the humble talent with a smile that lights up a room. Combine all 5 guys together and you have one kick ass rock and roll band that personifies the true meaning of the every day man. Each has invested their passion and soul into producing music that speaks to the heart, while at the same time staying true to themselves by not succumbing to the expectations of a "sex, drugs and rock-n-roll" lifestyle.
They are such class acts and are so appreciative of their fans It's amazing to see how many people's lives have been made brighter because they got a picture with one of the boys. Thats evident by looking at the photo section on this website..

So I can honestly say that being a Daughtry fan has changed my life for the better and my life has always been pretty good...I have a good job, live in a great place and have a wonderful family and friends. But being a hardcore Daughtry fan just adds that extra little something.. whether it be the happiness that cheers me up when I am not feeling my best or the little bit of sunshine on a rainy day when I pop "Daughtry" into my CD player--it instantly puts a smile on my face.
So if you do in fact read this guys: A big heartfelt thanks to you for the music, the love and respect, for staying true to who you are, and for changing my life completely--YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!! And I am forever a fan!
