Hey! For those of you who are making your first trip to Myrtle Beach to see Daughtry at the House of Blues, I have to warn you about potential traffic problems.
Memorial Day Weekend is also the Atlantic Beach Bike Festival, which has grown from a bike rally for Japanese bikes to an all-out traffic jam. There are enough bikes as it is, but since it's a young crowd, all the "groupies" come to the beach in their cars to check out the guys on their bikes, thus clogging up the streets and highways. Traffic is beyond unbearable. Some businesses even close because their employees can't get to work during the weekend. Trust me - I've been there twice and the traffic IS that bad. One year it took me a solid hour to drive up one block and over one block. The motorists are rude and won't let people in traffic.
