I am a fan (and you should be too), because...
Ever since the first moment that I saw Chris audition for American Idol I have been a fan. Not only of his voice and talent but also his heart. I was in awe of the man before me that was hugging his wife after he made it to Hollywood with the hopes that his dream could be soon fullfilled. This man that took on a responsibility that many men are not willing to take on, a family that is not of his blood but that is of his heart.
With the weeks that followed I came to respect Chris as a man that stayed true to his values and beliefs. He never traded in who he was or what his music was about for the more popular music. Every week he gave his music everything and sung his heart out for all the fans that have stood behind him from day one. He was an inspiration.
Since American Idol and the release of the first album my admiration for this man has grown even more (I didn't think that was possible.) As the band came together they continued to stay true to their fans with the songs that they released. Each song more powerful then the one before. Music that spoke to you and moved you. I found myself lost in the songs as they brought memories flooding back. Not only is the music beautiful and powerful but it's also real. It speaks to people and that's why I feel so many people are fans now and if not now, then very soon.
I recently had the privilage to see Chris sing our National Anthem at the Saints vs Bears playoff game. I was filled with such pride as I listened to him sing. What an amazing voice and such a beautiful gift. I cried as I watched him cry.
So in closing. I'm a fan and why you should be too. There are very few musicians out there anymore that are true role models. Chris has been one in everything he has done, his family, his music and his fans. He has always remained true to his beliefs and has never waivered. Besides how can you not love a man that can cry on national tv while singing the National Anthem? He's always had my vote and always will.
Daughtry in Denver again...
Haven't missed a show in Colorado yet, wouldn't miss the opportunity to see Daughtry and Bon Jovi together in concert! Can't wait!
