Daughtry Rocks !!!
I am from the Greensboro, NC area, and from the very first TV ad clip of Chris Daughtry's AI debut, I've been hooked!!!
I watched every single AI performance, and tracked his progress throughout the season. I constantly searched the web for photos, and news, and any information on Chris Daughtry.
I was the 3rd person in line to buy DAUGHTRY when it was released on Tuesday, November 21, 2006. And, I bought 7 cd's !!! As I left the store, I had already opened the CD, and read the lyrics while walking back to my car. The CD was put into my player, and has NOT been removed since!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this CD. It is honestly better than any other I've ever purchased!
I put a 2nd CD in my computer CD-ROM when I arrived at my office, and play it continuously, too. And PROUDLY display the CD Jewel Case on my desk, so that I can brag about DAUGHTRY each and every time I'm asked ... 'What are you listening to?'
As it turns out, playing the CD at work on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 was the smarted thing I've done in a while! About 2 pm that afternoon, a colleague came into my office, heard the music, saw the case, and immediately recognized the talent! She then told me she had the amazing pleasure of getting the chance to meet Chris Daughtry, in Greensboro, on Friday, November 24, 2006 ... at a professional function ... and invited me to attend !!!
WOW .... I got to meet Chris that Friday morning, face to face, and he was completely amazing!!! He is genuine and true to his values! I will forever treasure the opportunity. I took all 7 of my CD booklets with me, to the meeting, and Chris was so gracious to personalize and autograph each one, and several photos that we had available, also.
Of course, we were listening to the CD during the visit and told Chris how much we loved it. We asked if he enjoyed listening to his own CD. He sadly reported, that when Deanna went to purchase a CD on that Tuesday, that the store she visited was SOLD OUT ... and that he actually didn't have a copy of his very own CD ... and was actually going to have to purchase one from an online source that afternoon. All of the local stores had sold out of the first shipment of CDs.
Needless to say, 5 of my friends and family members got wonderful, personalized, autographed, CDs for Christmas (in November) because I was way to excited to wait!
Chris' music is real ... honest ... pure. You can feel the emotion he has written and sung into each song. Again, I have never enjoyed a complete CD any better than this one.
Chris ... I can only imagine how very busy you are ... but please ... please .... PLEASE get us some more music !!! We LOVE you !!! Stay true to yourself, your beliefs, your family, and your friends! I am thrilled that you were able to create the CD that YOU wanted to create. I am thrilled that you've chosen to do "your own thing", instead of bending to squeeze in some mold that someone else thinks you should fit into.

Chris (and all the rest of you guys and gals reading behind the scenes),
I am a single mom of 5 ... and they all are so unique. My baby girl, Makayla Jolie, (5 years old) has been a Chris Daughtry fan since your first commercial for Idol.
Each and every time she hears your voice, either on the radio, or on the tv (we have all of your Idol appearances on DVD), whether spoken voice, or singing voice ... SHE RECOGNIZES YOU !!!
She screams, "Oh, Mommy, Oh Mommy ... there's Chris ... He's my Hero !!! "
As soon as your voice goes off the air, each and every time, we have the very same discussion, and it goes something like this:
Makayla: Mommy, I love Chis Daughtry sooooo much!
Mommy: Yes, I know you do.
Makayla: Mommy, i cried because you wouldn't take me to see Chris. (In Greensboro)
Mommy: Yes, Makayla, I'm sorry baby, but Chris was very busy that night.
Makayla: But, I love Chris, Mommy, soooo much !!!
Mommy: Yes, baby, I know. You'll get to meet him soon.
Makayla: You got to meet him Mommy, last year, do you still love Chris?
Mommy: Yes, of course I do!
Makayla: Well, do you still love me too?
