I am a fan (and you should be too), because...
They are the best band ever!!!! Ok, here I go: I have been a fan of Chris ever since I saw him perform "The Letter" on his American Idol audition. When I saw him walk into that room and belt it out, I fell totally in love; not only with his voice, but also with him. He was a die-hard family man from a little small town in North Carolina who was working a day job at a car dealership trying to support his wife and two adopted kids, and then singing at bars at night with his band, Absent Element. Chris deserved to be in the spotlight, he deserved to be on American Idol and have his voice showcased for all of America to see. This was his dream...this was his chance to show everyone what he wanted, and what other way to get your name out there than to tryout for American Idol??? I supported him on AI and rooted for him every week. I knew he would win; nobody was as good as he was. But...on May 10, Chris was eliminated. I, along with many other Chris fans, was devastated when he lost, and could not believe that it had happened. But things always have a way of working themselves out though, dont they??? Shortly after the May 10th elimination, Chris was given an offer from the rock band Fuel to become their new lead singer. He had sung one of their big hits "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" during the AI competition, and rocked it better than the original, no wonder they would want such a talented artist to be their lead singer, but Chris declined to become a member of the band, shocking some, but not me at all. It was the best decision; Chris deserved to have his own band. He then went on to record his debut album, Daughtry, while on the American Idol tour, and picked 4 members to be his band: JP, Josh, Jeremy, and Joey. They are all such talented musicians!!! There couldnt be a better band out there right now! They sold over 300,000 copies of their cd the FIRST week and have since sold well over 1 million copies, making the cd platinum! The cd debuted at #1 on the Billboard rock charts, and set a rock record for soundscan! DAUGHTRY has longevity; they will be around for a long time. This is just the beginning guys, and as the song says Its Not Over and boy, is that true! I am PROUD to be a Daughtry fan and to have seen Chris and the band grow as musicians, it truly is a wonderful thing to watch! The lyrics, the voice, the stage presence, (the looks!) of this band is one of a kind, there is no better band than Daughty! I love them to death, play their cd constantly, and talk about them constantly to my friends and family about how great they are (and most agree!) I will always be a fan of the greatest rock band there is, and a proud one of that! I cant wait to see what the future is going to hold for this wonderful group of guys!!! They deserve it all, ROCK ON DAUGHTRY, WE LOVE YA!!!!!!
Happy Bday Chris!
