Ever since I saw Chris Daughtry during the auditions of American Idol, and how he's such a family person, dedicated to his family, I knew for sure this was yet another true and genuine performer to look out for. But of course, his vocals blew me away too, in each and every single of his performance on the show, as he delivers his songs with all his heart and soul.

Being a fan in Singapore, we are able to watch the show, but unable to vote for any of our favourite contestants, so each week I just sit and wait, hoping that he'd make it, which I knew he would, because he simply stood out from all the other contestants, keeping it real, singing 'rock' songs with a different touch.

Then I was on my way to Florida to work at Seaworld, and for the last few episodes, I was there, and able to vote for him, so it felt really special, for me to finally be able to support my favourite contestant. Sadly, he didn't make it to the final two, which we all thought he would. Yet deep down I knew he'd definitely succeed without a winning title.

Here he is, with his band, topping the charts everywhere, that just shows you don't have to be a winner on "Idol" to succeed. It's his music that touches us, his fans. I love EVERY SINGLE one of the tracks on the album, some of which I can relate to, which is why musicians want to write their own music, hoping someone, anyone out there will be able to relate to their songs. DAUGHTRY does that amazingly.

And despite all that fame, judging from all other fans' interactions with him, he is definitely still keeping it real. I hope I can meet him soon, someday, and watch him belt out all my favourite songs on the stage, live.
