Choosing concert dates to enter myself to win a VIP prize package, I had to decide how far I'd be willing to travel to see Daughtry. I have to say I'm surprised at myself, to be this willing, at my almost-middle-age, to board a plane and miss work if it meant getting to see Daughtry in a huge arena, not to mention meet the band...I'm getting more excited by the minute.

I saw Daughtry about a year ago, when they were just starting out and playing small venues. It was a real privilege to get to see them in that intimate setting, to get so close to the stage, close enough to see the facial expressions, the fingering of the guitars, the sweat and emotion pouring out on the stage. My cousin, the lucky dog, had her outstretched hand grabbed by Chris, as he sang a line right to her.

Nothing can replace that singular experience of seeing and feeling the music so close-up...but I also know that nothing will be able to replace seeing them explode in a gigantic arena, the strong sweet sounds reaching miles out and filling not hundreds of hearts, but thousands upon thousands.

I can't wait to be there and I don't care if I have to hitchhike!

Well, I've got my tickets to the show in Albuquerque on February 14th, and it's a good thing because they've sold out (of course). I'm still waiting and hoping to get those VIP tickets though, so I can meet the band. Believe me, it won't be hard to find two more people to go with me and use the tickets I already bought.

When will they tell me I won?!?!? Argh, the waiting...

The person who is coming to the show with me is traveling to town and back for the night -- 446 miles!! And guys, you are worth every mile and more..
