I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...
Music is what is has been the backdrop of my life. It was what got me through those crazy teenage years living in rural oblivion. I cannot stand to be in a silent room. There is always something making noise wherever I am... in the house, in the car, in my sleep....
It's not just the melody of the musical notes that keeps be going... most often it is an intense combination of musical instrumentation and meaningful lyrics. The voice and the look of the artsist take a backseat... though you add vocal tallet and a sweet body to the mix and I'm in Heaven...it's too rare to relay on. Bruce Springsteen was the first artist to capture my attention, and though I was considered 'young' for a Boss fan, his music spoke to me, and I learned to listen to music with enthusiam. Over the years, I have come to appreciate live music even more than studio recordings, though both have their benefits. I moved from NY to Washington DC and finally to central NC for the sake of education and my career, and music has been what helped me make each move. Living in NC has been somewhat trying. It is immensely different than anywhere else I have been, especially when it comes to music. But there has been a ray of hope to emerge from the score of unknown musicians populating central NC... his name is Chris Daughtry.... He has the songwrting skills, he writes beautiful music, he sings with his heart, and he has renewed my faith in local music! I go out to a lot of local clubs and listen to a lot of bands.... I hear bands that have the right sound, but don't know how to survive the industry... Chris did what it took to make his way above and beyond working the local scene, and the rest of the world should be thankful for this... very thankful!
