well my Thanksgiving started out on a rough note, as we had to put our dog to sleep yesterday morning he was really sick Wednesday night and wouldn't eat so my brother took him to the vet's office. They said he had a tumor that was pushing on his internal organs and making eating difficult (we figured he had a tumor, but we thought we'd have at least another year with him before we had to put him down). The vet treated him and let us take him home, as we needed to decide what to do....do we put him down or do surgery (he was 12 years old)? in the end we decided it was best to put him down because surgery would only buy us a few more months anyway and it's not fair to the dog to prolong it. So anyway we were going to do it at the end of this weekend, but then Thanksgiving morning he looked worse than the last night and we decided we couldn't wait until the end of this weekend. I know we made the best decision, but we miss our Zeke.........

but anyway, the day ended up being better.....we ate Thanksgiving dinner with dad's side of the family. I made a cheesecake (call me weird, but i don't like pumpkin or apple pie much.....so i make a cheesecake and bring it to Thanksgiving dinner!!! that way i've got something i like there). I don't mean to brag (really i don't), but i can make a pretty mean cheesecake and my (paternal) grandma is kind of a "foodie" (meaning that baking is more or less her *thing*).....i was pretty pleased when my grandma told me my cheesecake was really good and i could come to her house and make it for her anytime!!
