Do you know how awesome it would be if they did the EUROPEAN LEG? Bon Jovi sell out the huge stadiums over there. The exposure would be priceless!! Last year when Nickleback opened for them over there, NB exploded on the European market. Too bad the boys couldn't work it out somehow...would have been great!!

Thanks for the updates and video, I'm soooo excited for the CA leg of the tour, this will be my second time to see Daughtry and 1st to see jbj, i'm stoked... and I agree with all you said in your post. This is great exposure for daughtry and a learning experience. I wish Daughtry would do the International leg of the tour with BJ but I know they want to work on their new cd.

I have a friend sitting in the front row of the lower section, same side, and if I remember correctly, it's pretty darn close to the 20th row. : )

I saw the video...sigh....loved it!

When Jon gives the mic over to Richie to sing a solo(song varies) work your way toward the side. Sometimes security won't let you but try. It's always best before BJ goes on to stage, go over near the wall at the end of your row so security gets used to you being there. Or maybe you can strike up a conversation with the person at the end of that row and see if they will switch places. Don't tell them why LOL!! They might move to be a little closer...

He goes between the right section and the side of the lower section while poeple are grabbing him etc. I honestly am shocked he puts himself out there like that. But I'm glad he does. He has always done something to connect with other areas of the audience. He will sing a couple songs on a little platform about row 20 or so then walk back toward the stage. Did you watch the video I attatched??? Would you not just DIE!!!!

Someone below was wondering about Bon Jovi being in the crowd. Jon usually goes in to the crowd on the right side of the stage if you are looking at it. Sometimes I have seen him on the left but mostly right. Several times so far this year, Richie has joined him on a small stage before Jon jumps down in the crowd. I added a video of Jon in the crowd last tour. It will def give you an idea of what can be in store!! I've seen him kiss multiple girls walking through, sometimes dances with one then kisses her. So if your seats are anywhere near right section about row 20 or closer...you better be ready!!

Daughtry was fantastic last night! The stage was small, the set was short, and the crowd disappointed me but, I wouldn't dare have missed a minute of it. I honestly had it in my mind that this was going to be a Daughtry concert and Bon Jovi was also going to play. I suppose that was a little naive but, I really was shocked that the crowd wasn't full when Daughtry hit the stage!! Who with a ticket would miss Daughtry? It's the only reason I bought mine!! On the flip side, for a concert that I could have left after Daughtry was done and felt I'd gotten more than my money's worth, Bon Jovi easily put on one of the best shows I've ever seen!! They were damn impressive with 25 songs and nonstop energy with great screens and effects. What a night!! So, my advice is to get there early, give Daughtry all the love and support they deserve, and then enjoy Bon Jovi knowing that Daughtry is on their way to similar success in the future!!

I definitely agree with some of the other "posters"--I would go see Daughtry if they only got to do five minutes! This will be a great experience for them and will give them a lot of exposure. There are still many potential fans out there who have not experienced Daughtry, and when they leave, they will be talking about them. I am so excited about seeing them in Greensboro on 3/16/08! It will be interesting to see how the dynamics may change because Greensboro is Chris's home. I honestly think Daughtry alone could sell out the Greensboro Coliseum. At any rate, I will be there early and love every minute of their performance! Let's continue to give them all of our support!!

In response to the questions re why Daughtry would return to opening act status and open for Bon Jovi is for knowledge and experience. Yes Daughtry headlined last year and that is great but they were mostly intimate venues. Opening for legends like Bon Jovi will give them experience in playing for large crowds. If Chris is smart (and we know he is) he will use this tour to pick Jon's brain for invaluable advice. He can learn a lot from Jon as a frontman and businessman. I know a lot of people on this board don't know much about Bon Jovi except that they were an eighties band. The truth is that they are one of the most successful rock acts of all time. They recently broke the Beatles record overseas for album sales. They sell out 70,000 seat stadiums all over the world, have sold more than 125 million albums and still have number 1 hits after being together for 25 years. If Daughtry can model themselves after Bon Jovi to have as successful of a carreer, it would be awesome! I truly hope that is the path they are on. So,yes,they are the opening act to rock legends. Why wouldn't they want to do it? They will get a lot of exposure, experience, advice, and have an truly incredible ride!
As for wanting smaller venues, I agree. The intimacy is great. Unfortunately, these arena shows are intimate to me. BJ plays arenas in the winter and stadiums in the summer. If Daughtry opens for the stadium shows this summer(which haven't been announced yet) you really will wish for intimacy LOL!! Being in the crowd of 60 - 70,000 people on one hand loses the contact but the other hand is an awesome experince to see all those people having the time of their lives. I hope they get to open those shows just so they can experience that many people singing their songs.
Sory so long but I love both bands and just wanted express what I think is a fabulous decision!

I was lucky enough to get to see Daughtry 4 times in 2007 and have my ticket for the Dallas show. I bought my ticket to see Daughtry. It's kind of good to read what to expect as far as Daughtry's time and space on stage. I hope the new song makes it for the Chicago shows. We can't wait to see you Chris!!!!!! I like Bon Jovi but will be there for you!!!

I was the VIP Winner for this show and it was truly amazing!! I missed the meet and greet due to a miscommunication from the record label and the ticket booth. I had no ticket and I cried as I heard Daughtry beginning to play and I stood outside. Thank GOD that a tour rep had mercy on me for this terrible mishap. I had driven 8 hours one way and was feeling hopeless. However, the fab Daughtry reps came and helped me, assured me I was getting tickets. I have seen the concert before, so I was dissapointed to miss the meet and greet opportunity. Once again, the tour manager angel helped me fulfill my dream and meet Chris and the guys. It was stressful but amazing. Chris and the band were friendly, enthusiastic and extremely genuine. I am grateful for the kindness they and their representatives showed us. All the guys give great hugs!!!

If we can afford to go in support of our guys then we should show them all the love we can!!! It is an expensive show and not everyone can afford it!! But don't make the guys feel bad about a "short set" or "small stage"....it's not what we are used to, but it is an AWESOME experience for them!! At least they are around for us to see and we should absorb all that we can...It won't be long before they are back headlining and probably in the big arenas!!! I don't know of many bands that tour like these guys do.....we've all been so lucky to see them as much as we have!!!
I'm fortunate to go to Mohegan both nights in March, and yes, 100% for Daughtry!! But I'll enjoy BJ too!! They are seasoned professionals....what's not to enjoy?!?!?

Man....I hate to hear that the guys were given that kind of set up!!!! Honestly...they deserve a much better reception than that!!! Bon Jovi is great and all, but for me, it's all about Daughtry!! You can believe I'll be at my show early!! Wish I could get VIP too!! I am so spoiled from last year. I always managed to get up front ,or at least pretty close, at all 11 shows except the Nickelback show in Columbia. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL MARCH 16TH! Happy Birthday to me! It was my first Daughtry concert and it was great!! I only have one problem it was not long enough!! I wished they could have played for the 2 hrs like BJ did!! For some of those Bon Jovi fans who have never heard of Daughtry (WHO IN THE WORLD HASNT HEARD OF DAUGHTRY THO?) But aynways....for those BJ fans who haven't, then they are more likely to NOT show up for the show early....yaknow???? So as time goes on, I'm sure more and more ppl will go and watch the whole set. After looking at the pictures, WOW they were kinda cramped!!! TOtally not there fault at all, I'm sure.......Good luck guys--- you know we still love ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and will be crossin our fingers for VIP!

I FINALLY made it to see DAUGHTRY last night - and it was AWESOME!! I tried to get tickets when they came to Lincoln and actually cried when I didn't get them! So I jumped at the chance to get these tickets.... I got them for DAUGHTRY - not Bon Jovi.....but I can't say I didn't enjoy BJ as well. Kinda funny - I got tickets for my 2 teenage sons......and they only wanted to got to see DAUGHTRY too! I agree the stage could of been bigger and maybe they could of at least had a banner or something with the band name on it.....for those people who didn't know who they were....but all it all I was thrilled to be rocking with them last night! Thanks for an awesome show!
