Reviews for this Calendar date

That's how HOT Daughtry was!! When my husband agreed to go with me to the concert, I was so excited. It was the best concert I have ever been to. The whole experience made me feel like I was in my 20s again, and it was a great feeling!! I got to see Chris on his skateboard prior to taking the stage, and then again as the band walked toward the stage to perform. We had seats, so we were not close enough to see that great, but Daughtry sounded AMAZING!! Nickelback was fantastic, as well. All around, one of the best nights ever!!

The best concert I ever attended. Daughtry and Nickelback are my two favorite groups and there was no way I was missing this one. I am so glad I didn't. It was fantastic. This was my first time seeing Daughtry live, although I followed Chris faithfully every week on American Idol. I can say this will not be my last Daughtry Concert. If you have not seen Daughtry live, you need to. I was blown away, what could I say.

I took my 8 year old nephew and he absolutely had an awesome experience! This was his first concert so, I was really excited to see how he'd like it. We all had a freakin blast! I've seen Staind and Nickelback before and they always rocked! Daughtry rocked the stage big time! I was really impressed! Awesome show all around!

My husband and I took our two children and our nephew. we were in the front row. I still can not believe we made it to the very front row. you guys were awesome, and I can't wait to see you again.

Definitely Daughtryfied @

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to send my sympathy to those that missed either all or part of the show. Guess I was lucky with the traffic. I live 1 1/2 hours away, left at 3:30 and didn't have much trouble at all getting into the park. There were times we sat still in the line of cars but more so we were slowly moving most of the time. I too, didn't see any police directing traffic. Just elderly security guards allowing pedestrians to cross in front of the cars. My husband didn't stay in the line of traffic for the concert though. It looked like we would of been parked quite a ways out in no man's land. So, he left the long line of cars, and we ended up parking right by Chocolate World. It was a matter of just walking a little ways to the stadium. When we got to the stadium, we walked right in too!! There were no lines at all. We even had time to sit and eat before going to our seats.
Guess I didn't know how lucky I was until I read all the horror stories here from the ones that sat in traffic for hours. I'm so sorry!!
The show was just awesome!! It was a birthday present from my husband. Believe me, it's the best present I ever got!!
Hope you all get to see the guys in some other venue soon!!They put on a terrific show!
Better luck next time!!

My sister-in-law and niece took me along to the Hershey, PA Concert as my birthday present this year. I've always liked Daughtry's songs on the radio, his music has always been GREAT to listen to; HOWEVER, seeing him in concert has truly made me a FAN! The concert was awesome and he is a great performer. I looked forward to hopefully seeing them in concert at the York Fair (York, PA) in September.
The only down part of the Hershey Concert was Staind, seemed like most of the audience was bored during the band's performance.
Nickelback rocked the show!
It was one of the best concerts I've been to! Couldn't thank my sister-in-law enough for such an AWESOME birthday present!
If you like Daughtry's music, go see him in concert! HE ROCKS!

I called them on monday and today and the box office said tickets go on sale at 4:00pm.

thank god i got to the park at 10:30... came all the way form east stroudsburg.... daughtry freaking rocked... as did nickleback... stained was ok..... after the daughtry show i would have left feeling that i got my 59$ worth... they are one of the best bands i have seen live and i have seen many concerts live... was very pissed about the review in the hershey paper the next day saying how much nickleback sucked..... the reporter obviously wasnt at the same show i was

This show was the best - I can't stop thinking about how AWESOME it was. We got there early and were able to get up front. I joined the Nickelback fan club months ago just so I could get early entry to this show to see DAUGHTRY up close!! When I got to the Nickelback early entry line - I was there with my DAUGHTRY T-shirt on and everyone just looked at me Smiling Oh well - my loyalty is with my favorite band ever! The concert was the best I've ever been to by far. Chris's voice is just amazing and the guys rocked!! I did miss JP - I was looking forward to seeing him live. I can't wait to see you guys again. You have the best fans and we love you!!! Keep on rockin Smiling

Well, Alison and I headed up to Hershey from long island, then NYC....We got up there around 3-3:30...It was so HOT!!! I mean, we were melting, but it was worth it to see our boys!!! We waited on line for 2 hrs, and patti was texting me updates from her show, little does she know it was keeping us sane!!!! well, we got into our "crappy seats", which wound up being AWESOME!!!! they were in the section on the side of the stage and 25 rows up, but.....guess what was immediately next to us???? THE FENCED IN AREAS WHERE THE TOUR BUSES WERE!!! YAY!!! so the guys were hanging out pretty much right next to us! we saw joey, brian and vegas.... and then all of a sudden, you see chris skating by on his board!!! so awesome, we called his name and he waved and said hi, and gave us the good ol rock on sign!!!! this happened not once, BUT 2 MORE TIMES!!! YAY!!! so we were fortunately sitting in a mostly nickelback section, (shout out to u guys!!!) so we were the only ones who cared and were looking over the railing, so we were able to get his attention!!! it was pretty cool....by the way, at one point he was shirtless!!! **drool**

anyway, the show was amazing as usual, the guys keep getting better and better, and vegas did a great job although we miss JP. Chris told the crowd how he fell off his skateboard the other day, and he was so humble, introducing the guys and all.... They played 7 songs, i think they had to shorten it cause of the venue closing early..

The only bummer of the evening is bc we kept standing in the aisle on the steps near the wall the "USHER" guy kept yelling at us!!! (he had a big bright yellow button that said usher and the guys near us were making fun of him and sticking up for us!!)

Well he told me I was acting like a 10 year old...totally embarrassed me cause everyone was listening......Well, NANNY NANNY POO POO big usher guy!!! I know you were doing your job, but you were kinda rude and im just a fan trying talk to the guys, to thank them for all they do....and you just werent so nice....BUT its ok...mission accomplished...Smiling

I have to say, at one point, we were rocking out to daughtry, the wind was blowing, the sun was setting,we were high above the whole crowd(cause out seats were so high up!) I looked around, and I thought: "how could it get any better than this???!!!" I know it sounded cheesy, but I was so happy at that moment....I know you all have had or will have that surreal daughtry moment at some point...this was mine, and this is my 5th show!! (Thanks Jill for that advice!)

Well, believe it or not we didnt stay for staind or nickleback AGAIN!! But thats ok, we got to see a great show, and have a little interaction with our boys... It was funny when we were leaving the ticket lady said, "you know you cant come back in right?" and we simply said.."nope, thats ok, we just came for daughtry" and she didnt even give it a second thought...THATS how awesome daughtry has become.....

well, girls....thats my take on it all...Cant wait to see lots of you at the Big E, or as jill(CT) calls it. "THE BIG D"

Just like so many other people I did not get to see Daughtry's entire set in Hershey. I think I walked into the stadium around 6:45pm. At least I got to see a little of them but I'm short and it was really hard for me to actually see the band members. Anyway, they totally rocked as I expected them to. I had seen Chris twice before on the AI Tour (one being at the Giant Center in Hershey) but never the whole band perform. I guess I will complain about the situation. We were about 30 mins away from the stadium and left with almost 3 hours till show time. We sat in traffic for 2 1/2 hours. After I saw on Hershey.com on friday that there was going to be no tailgating allowed I figured there was no use going up so early. That was the original plan though. I have been to MANY concerts at Hershey and never once sat in traffic like that before. Ridiculous! My poor friend never even walked into the stadium until right before Nickelback came on. She was sooo upset. Anyway, we will be at the York Fair show and we'll be there in plenty of time. I dont know if I ever want to go to another concert at Hershey. Nobody expected the kind of hassles that most of us endured on saturday. And to schedule so many events on 1 night, especially 1 of them being a sold out rock concert, was idiotic! I'm done now. Daughtry, I will see you soon!

~Heather

I too missed half of Chris's performance due to traffic but enjoyed every minute of what I saw! Daughtry sounded awesome! I should have known to leave earlier...I know how Hershey is with concerts...so it was my fault really. Sticking out tongue But hey, I get another chance to see him at the York Fair! I am so happy he is coming there! I won't miss a minute of that show! Smiling

The York Fair website now says the tickest don't go on sale until 4:00 PM on Thursday....

My friend and I were also stuck in traffic for an hour and 15 minutes at Hershey. I have lived only 15 minutes away from Hershey my entire life and never saw traffic like that before - even at the many concerts I have been too. Regardless of having missed two of Daughtry's songs (though we heard them from the parking lot as we were walking in), I was just so thrilled to be there that it didn't matter. I got to see Chris and the band perform, and that's all that really matters...and what an awesome performance it was!!!!!! I am definitely going to be at the York show as well!

Rocked with the guys in....
- Hershey, PA, 7/14/07
- York, PA, 9/14/07
- Reading, PA, 12/8/07
- Philadelphia, PA, 3/2/08 (VIP winner!)
- Allentown, PA, 8/27/08 and...
- York, PA, 9/13/08 - the best show I have seen!!!!!

I want to say how sorry I am for those of you who missed Daughtry...but here is my story...
My mother and I came from Pittsburgh after not getting to see Daughtry there becuase of the pre-sale password we never got. I have seen Nickelback before and knew what an amazing concert this would be...SO WORTH IT ALL!!! We came out Saturday morning and met up with a friend in Harrisburg - I didn't realize how close that was to Hershey so we got there really early and went to Chocolate World - this miscalculation saved the weekend though because we had no problem getting into town or getting a parking spot when we arrived at 3:30 pm. After touring Chocolate World, we walked right into the stadium at 5:30 pm. My biggest disappointment was that there was not a Daughtry sweatshirt to buy Sad Anyway, the concert was AMAZING!!! Daughtry sounded unbelievable and it was better than I could have hoped to see him live. Staind was ok (kinda wish they'd have gone first though) and, of course, Nickelback put on an AMAZING show as well. I also was lucky enough to see Chris skateboarding around the buses. The only thing better would have been to meet him!!! I hope Daughtry understands that he NEVER bores ANY of his fans and it's a shame he wouldn't know that by now!!! My mom completely loved the concert and doesn't even enjoys concerts - but Daughtry has that power!!! Again, I cannot even imagine what I would have done had I missed seeing Daughtry however, I didn't - probably to pure luck - and it was more than I could have hoped for. Chris - you NEED to come back to Pittsburgh when you tour again - I assure you that you have fans that will be there (since a bunch of them drove across the state and/or out-of-town to see you). You are NEVER boring and you are AMAZING...and HOT - did I mention that?!

Just wanted to say THANKS to Mamarock for the information on Daughtry coming to York Fair. I was looking under Grandstand Shows & Concert tickets and would have never thought to go directly to Buy Tickets On Line. Thanks again for letting us know when the tickets go on sale!

to hear that so many of you had problems getting through traffic. We must have gotten lucky (or the navigation system was just psychic) because we didn't hit any real traffic on our way in and we parked right next to the stadium at around 2:30. We did ignore the signs that said "concert parking" and drove directly to the stadium itself.

Beth DG's review from earlier(on the East Coast thread) was right on...AMAZING night. Daughtry rocked, though Josh Paul was missed. Too funny that he was posting here on DO that same night. It was my first time seeing Nickelback live, and I'm sure I'll go see them again! I hadn't seen Staind before either - and they were good - but Aaron Lewis seemed almost lethargic.

BTW - Chris did hear about the traffic problems and so many people missing the show. He mentioned it later that night when he was out signing autographs and posing for pics.

I'm so sorry to those who missed it. The traffic was horrible. We left NYC at 11:30 and got there went just 30 mins to spare.

For those who purchased their tickets via Ticketmaster, there was an email sent out to everyone saying that there were 3 events happening that night. Plus, people really should take the fact that it was a Saturday afternoon in the summer that of course the park would be packed! Even minus the fireworks, its obvious parking was going to be horrible.

Its not the bands fault for poor scheduling on the Park and Stadium's part. The band did what they had to do, show up and rock the house. They didn't enforce the no tailgating policy, which took parking spaces away from others. They had senior citizens taking money and directing traffic, so it was slowed down even more and they weren't directing people from the right spots to start with.

I feel bad for others who missed the band, but its the stadium's fault.

You showed me what's right."

For all who were caught up in traffic -- York Fair, Friday, September 14. Tickets for York Fair go on sale Thursday, 7/19 at 8:00 a.m. When you go to the York Fair website do not go to Grandstand Show and Concert Tickets -- Daughtry is not listed there. Go directly to BUY TICKETS ONLINE. Get your fingers warmed up - can we sell out the York Fair?

I have no idea if Chris even gets a chance to read these, but let me tell you Chris. There is no way I would have been bored. I was so upset when I read the comment from Amyy73 and she said you said "I hope I'm not boring you" We were among the thousands stuck in traffic. To the people who keep saying you should have left early. Instead of critizing those of us who missed the reason we were there "Daughtry" how about saying sorry you missed it. We left with plenty of time to spare. Hershey scheduled three events in one evening, plus having the park open. I am sorry, but how was I supposed to know they had 3 events in one night. I only cared about Daughtry. I am hoping to get tickets to see you at the York Fair and believe me I will be leaving in the AM. I will not miss you again. You guys sounded great from the highway, just wish I could have seen you perform. I vote for your videos every week and everytime I see them I was so psyched to know I was going to see you in concert. I don't have much, but this was the one thing I was doing for ME. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I hope Daughtry doesn't think he doesn't have many fans in PA, because you certainly do. You had thousands sitting on Hershey Drive.

Love you guys!!!!
Your Very disappointed to have missed you Fan! Sad

Hershey was my first time seeing daughtry live. And i couldnt have been more pleased. Thank God i missed all the traffic that seemed to hold up a hell of alot of fans. That really sucks and I really feel bad cus it was an excellent show!!! I cant wait to see more daughtry !!!

LoVe LoVe LoVe you guys!!!!

I am a mom of 3 boys so do you know how often I get a day to myself, HARDLY EVER! I am also a HUGE Daughtry fan. I was sooooooo excited to be going to see you guys at Hershey Park and we gave ourselves about an extra hour and a half for traffic or any other glitches that might have arised but I really did not think that we would have been stuck in traffic for over 3 hours then another half an hour to get to the stadium once we were in the parking lot. I was so disappointed to miss Daughtry and Staind, it was heartbreaking to say the least. I like Nickelback but I would not have traveled as far as I did to see just them, I wanted to see Daughtry. I hope I can see them somewhere else in the future. I will not EVER go to a concert at Hershey Park again, I think they owe everyone that missed such a huge part of the concert atleast an apology. I have been to many sold out concerts in big cities before and I have never been stuck in traffic for that long, it was terrible.

The traffic was very bad - I agree. We chose to take a different route entering Hershey, PA after seeing the traffic at a standstill on I think it was Route 322. We drove right into the town of Hershey on Chocolate Ave. with no problems at all. Until we reached the light to turn onto Park Ave. right behind the Kiss tower. We sat still for at least 30 light rotations. We could see the park, just couldn't get to it! But common sense told us just to park where we could and walk the rest of the way. We were not going to miss any of the show. We knew that we only had about an hour til 6:30 and were not going to make it by car. So we uturned and parked in a restaurant parking lot, others were doing the same. We walked the entire fence around Hersheypark ( a mile or so one way) til we got to the stadium with plenty of time left before Daughtry. Other people I spoke to that were within a few miles of the stadium also parked where ever they could and hoofed it the rest of the way. We have been to other events at Hershey, and the traffic and parking is never really good, but this I think was the worst! But, as others have written, it is a very busy theme park and to add concerts to that fact, there are going to be traffic issues. I think though, more than 1 show a night should be reconsidered! We also had no traffic issues whatsoever leaving that night, after a long walk back to our car. The walk back was a killer after standing for nearly 4-5 hrs.

As far as the time that the concert was to start, Hershey made it perfectly clear! The ticket gave the correct time, and if you checked the website it gave specifics concerning the show as to when the stadium would open - 90 min. prior to the show. We also spoke with a rep. from the Giant Center when purchasing our tickets, and the same info. was stated then. So, it seems that any miscommunication was not the fault of HersheyPark.

Daughtry was absolutely fantastic!!!!!! They were awesome! I wouldn't have missed them for anything! I would have walked a hundred miles if I had to just to get there for their set. We had general admission tickets, and since we were there early had a great place to watch the show. Will definitely go to see them again. The entire show including Staind and Nickleback was one of the best I've ever seen, and I've been to see some real classics. I've been a huge fan of Chris's since the American Idol auditions, and hated to see him voted out last year. My friend went last week to see Taylor Hicks. I bet that was fun!!!!! She missed a real concert with Daughtry!

To those who say we should have expected traffic with 30,000 people going to a concert at a theme park: No 1-Hershey NEVER should have had so many events on one night. There were NOT JUST 30,000 people going to the stadium and the park. People were going to the Giant Center and to see the fireworks. No 2-A one hour drive should not take OVER 3 HOURS! I don't care what's going on! You can't predict that. And why were they telling us to park at Giant Center when there was plenty of parking closer to the Stadium? We didn't get there until Nickelback was going on. I couldn't care less about Nickelback! I went to see DAUGHTRY! I spent $55 (for a concrete bleacher seat, no less) and my gas to spend over 3 hours cramped in a car and use the bathroom at the stadium. I will NEVER go to Hershey Park again for anything! I am so upset that I missed them. It was supposed to be a birthday present for my sister too! If I don't get tickets for York Fair I am going to go postal! Well, as everyone has said, WE LOVE YOU GUYS!, and we would have been there for you, but we were trapped on Hersheypark Drive.

Who said the show started at 7pm?? I bought my tickets directly from the Giant Center Box Office, and it clearly stated that the concert began at 6:30pm. I just read someone complaining about being misinformed about when the concert actually started...assuming the 6:30 meant when they were going to open the doors for the concert, and the show began roughly around 7pm. Now I have been to lots of concerts and sporting events where the times have been printed on the ticket itself, that is when the show STARTS, not a rough estimate that the show will begin a half hour later. I think simple darwinism (stupidity) is what kept a lot of people out of the stadium for the first half of the concert. The gates opened a little after 5pm so people were given adequate time to find their seats, and the GA could rush up to the front and get the best position possible...just think about what you said. you thought the gates opened at 6:30 and the show would begin at 7....30 minutes for 30,000 people to find their seat, get some drinks, buy some shirts and be seated by the time Daughtry got on stage. Ridiculous

Would've loved to see both Daughtry and Staind instead of sitting in my car for 3 hours to travel 8 miles!!! Thank goodness we arrived in time (8:45 pm stepped foot into the stadium!) to see Nickelback or I would've strangled the first Hershey Park employee I encountered!! Who would've known that driving a normal 20-minute commute would last 3 hours instead! We drove from Trenton NJ to Harrisburg in less time (2 hr 15 min) than it took to get from Harrisburg to Hershey! Thank goodness we checked into our hotel first at 5 pm. We didn't get back to the Hotel until 2 am! And the concert ended at 10:30!! What the hell were they thinking? First, they funneled us down to 1 lane to get in, then they wouldn't let us out!! I saw cars jumping curbs just to escape at 1 am. It was ridiculous. I don't know about anyone else, but I think Hershey should refund ticket prices in light of their inadequate traffic flow problems. And why did they insist on us parking so far away from the stadium? (Read on....) (anyone catch the Nickelback reference ... "So far away ...") My husband recently recovered from a compound fractured leg and we had to walk forever just to get there (and he can't run yet). The backlog walking away from the concert was similarly as bad ... instead of waiting to cross the footbridge back to the parking lot, people (us included) were risking their lives crossing the road and limbo-ing through the fences just to get out. I'm still in shock and disappointment over the entire evening. Like others, I had to get an overnight babysitter, and pay for a hotel, not to mention the cost of our tickets, just to catch 1 1/2 hours of live music. For a married couple looking forward to this night out, we were severely upset.

I ended my vacation early and drove back from Myrtle Beach for this concert. Made it home changed and left with 3 hours until concert time, PLENTY of time. No one could have imagined the traffic to follow, there was no planning for it. Who knew Hershey would Book 3 events in 1 night and not be able to accommodate traffic. I was so heart broken and upset that I missed you guys, since it was the ONLY reason I bought the tickets. I was sooo excited last night hearing you would be at the York Fair, only to realize this morning it is the same evening as a close friends wedding. Thinking I would miss work to go to the Delaware Fair next week, sold out there too. I do really want to see you, I have been a fan ever since AI addition of "The Letter"! I just can't catch a break! You guys rock and have to come back to the area on your next tour!!

Hershey was awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why would they have a concert venue and not have parking/traffic patterns/police to accomodate it? We gave ourselves an hour to go 4 miles and did not make it to see Daughtry, who was the true reason that we bought the ticket. Even watching Staind was painful with the sun blaring in your eyes. Better luck next time, I am sure that Daughtry rocked, from what I heard on my three mile hike into the arena. For those of you that were able to see Daughtry and planned better than I did, great for you!

Also, the coolest thing was that Chris signed autographs after the show as we were walking out, even though the security guys tried to get people to keep moving, when they saw him riding that skateboard, there was no way to avoid the crowd. He signed as many as possible.

Just reconfirmed my opinion on this band and how far they will go and how much they truly appreciate the fans. We were there for you, just stuck in traffic.

You guys rocked!! The show was wonderful. Left early enough that we didn't hit any traffic. To those of you that missed Daughtry because of traffic look for him at the York Fair and leave early enough to allow for traffic. Again what an awesome concert in Hershey!!!!

Hershey rocked! We got there at 10 am and were standing in line for the concert! It was an excellent show! I'm sorry that only half the people made it there. Daughtry rocked! Can't wait to see them again! Next time,,, get there early... tailgate, and you won't have to worry about traffic!!!

we left our house in enola at 330pm the day of the concert, took 81 to 39 and happened to see that grassy field they had parking at. we got right in, parked and started to walk. we had no traffic at all, but there was already a huge line of cars waiting to get into the reg. parking. had we missed daughtry's performance, i would have been extremely upset as it sounds like the other fans are. i do agree that there was no cops whatsoever directing you where to go. we just happened upon that field entrance because there was a small sign pointing us there. at first we weren't even sure if we were going the right way because it seemed like a personal lane, but then we saw cars so we knew. what a great show-daughtry kicked butt! i was a little disapointed that they didn't have the big screens on, but maybe that was because the sun was out or something. i heard several people around us say bout sitting in traffic for 2 hrs. it was obvious after the show trying to get out of there that it was a total cluster. there was no cops at all, and people had begun making exits on their own by plowing thru the fence that surrounded the lot in various places. the only cop we saw was sitting at the corner of 39 and the main drag, on one of those electrical stoplight boxes. he was watching us all trying to get out but did nothing to help. what a mess. i feel sorry for those who missed daughtry-that was our whole reason for going. it sounds to me like some fans won't be back to hershey any time soon and i don't blame them one bit especially for what you pay to park and food, plus the tickets. daughtry is the coolest-my sister and i loved it!!!!!!!

We left in what we that was plenty of time, but from 3/4 of the people we talked to, I guess not. Well I'm just glad that some people got to enjoy Chris. I did get to see him once - with the Idols tour and he was freaking awsome. We talked to a "cop" who said there was 3 different things going on that day. I think it was poor planning on Hershey's part. I have never seen it that way before.

SOME PEOPLE COULD NOT GET THERE AT 4PM. SOME PEOPLE HAVE BABIES AT HOME AND HAD TO WAIT FOR BABYSITTERS. SOME PEOPLE GOT IN HERSHEY BY 4:30 AND STILL COULDNT GET INTO THE STADIUM UNTIL AFTER 8PM. THERE IS NO REASON TO BE JERKS TO THOSE OF US WHO ARE HEART BROKEN FOR SOMETHING THAT WASNT OUR FAULT. TO THOSE OF YOU WHO SAY EXPECT TRAFFIC LIKE THAT FOR A SOLD OUT 30,000+ CROWD.... YOUR NUTS! MY FAMILY HAS GONE TO MORE THAN ONE SOLD OUT CONCERT AT THE HERSHEY STADIUM, FOR BIGGER BANDS THAN DAUGHTRY AND NEVER SAT MORE THAN 45 MIN IN TRAFFIC. SO IF YOU WERE NOT STUCK IN THAT TRAFFIC, DONT EVEN TRY TO CRITISIZE THOSE OF US WHO WERE BECAUSE YOU COULD NOT POSSIBLY IMAGINE WHAT WE WENT THROUGH!!! I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YORK FAIR!!!! TO ALL OF THOSE WHO DID MISS DAUGHTRY, I HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE AT THE FAIR!!!!

All i have to say is that the show was awsome!!! I cant wait to see him in concert again!!! I would love to win the VIP experience because i would love to see chris in concert again. I seen the show in hershey and finding out that he is coming to York made me soo exited!!! I would also love the chance to meet him!! Smiling

Sorry to all of those fans that missed Daughtry because of traffic, my heart goes out to all of you!

We left Reading, PA at 3:15, got remotely close to the park at about 4:00 and I saw all the traffic already and couldnt figure out y everyone was trying to get over in the lane we were in, until we got down the road farther and I saw the signs that said only avail. concert parking next left, and I was so afraid I was going to be one of those people. My boyfriend decided he was starving and had to get something to eat because he did not want to pay the prices in the stadium for food. So we got out of the small line of traffic to park in the field, which we would have been fine parking and getting in, but would have been nuts getting out, and went to Wendys by the new Hershey Outlets. The traffic trying to get out of the shopping center was just as bad and I kept saying to my bf we are never going to get out of this parking lot, and he kept saying all these people are not going to miss the concert for sitting in traffic, I guess he was highly mistaken. I was also upset because I didnt know if Daughtry would be on first or second. He said he would pay me back for the money I spent on the tickets if I missed Daughtry. We had to wait almost an hour for food in there. Fortunately for us while we were standing in line, there was a couple in front of us commenting on how every time they come to Hershey for a concert they park in the Hershey Outlets and walk over which takes like 10 minutes. So I said to my boyfriend, we are doing that, I was not about to worry some more about getting over there to see the show and trying to make it through all that traffic!!! So after we ate he moved his precious car and we walked over. The funny thing is, we got almost to the parking lot next to the back of the park and my bf goes, I dont remember if I locked my car, I wasnt sure either, so I waited and he ran back, and it wasnt locked, so it was a good thing he went back but...as I was standing there the lead singer of Nickelback and I think his drummer, came riding by on a four wheeler type thing. There was other people in front of me that I guess arent as observant as I am, or maybe it was because he had sunglasses on, but they drove by having a good old time and I thought to myself, that was the lead singer of Nickelback and nobody noticed. So then when my bf came back I just started telling him about it, they came back around and I said there they are again. There was some more people than before walking now and they noticed who he was and screamed and he said "hi" but he kept going. It just amazed me how oblivious people are some times. I should have jumped out in front of him and got him to sign my ticket, lol!! Cant think that fast though!

Anyway, back to the horror. So I have been to the Hershey Stadium to see Hanson and *NSYNC previously. This is not the first time that I have experienced that much traffic going in and out of the park. I agree that the police should have been around to direct traffic, but the park is only so big, and they only have so many ways for cars to get in and out, and since some moron decided to schedule some kind of religious concert at the Giant Center, the same date and time as a sold out concert, I can only say that the traffic was to be expected and then some. I think whoever does the scheduling should not schedule something at the stadium and the Giant Center on the same day. I am sure this is not the first time and not the last time that it will happen, but should be looked into. I think they should either make more exits, or build the concert venues away from the park so park traffic doesnt get tangled in that mess also.

I saw that someone mentioned it would have been nice to receive an email regarding how much traffic there would be and to leave early and that there was something else going on at the Giant Center. I did recieve an email from someone named Michael Mendez, it said he was an employee there at Hershey for the Hershey Bears. And it basically said just that...due to the sold out concert and another event going on at the Giant Center, it said the gates to park opened at 2, the gates to the concert opened at 5:30, and the show started at 6:30, and to leave earlier than early. I already knew about all the traffic like I mentioned above, but I did not know it was sold out until Friday afternoon when I received that email. So something was out there email wise, I just wonder how I got it and I dont think too many other people did.

All in all I thought Daughtry was great, I agree with everyone else, it would have been nice if he would have played longer. I cant wait until the news of Daughtry, hopefully at the York Fair, comes out and the tickets go onsale so me and my bf can go to that too. Did anyone else notice that the sets seemed to get louder as the night when on? Like Daughtry wasnt that loud, then Staind came on and he suxed, but was a little louder, than Nickelback came on and it was really loud. I guess because they were the sole purpose of the concert, but keep the volume the same people, come on!! Staind seemed really lathargic. I dont know if that is Aaron Lewis's personality, but he doesnt impress me. I like 2 of their songs and that is it. They were just very blah! Since I had 2 beers before Staind came on, I used that time to run to the bathroom and stand in those long lines and fight my way through all the people who I guess were also not impressed with who was on stage. There were Daughtry fans sitting next to me and behind me and they both commented about how they were sitting in traffic while Daughtry was playing and were upset that they missed him. One couple said their daughter was there with one of her friends in the GA part and arrived much earlier and got to see Daughtry and texted to them that he was great while they were still sitting in traffic. By the time Nickelback came on I was so ready and they rocked, hard!! I was told they put on a good show and they were right. I would definitely go see Daughtry and Nickelback again. I loved the lights and the pyrotechnics!! wish I could do that kind of stuff, it adds so much to the music. I was a little upset my bf didnt bring his camera because he was worried about it getting taken away so all I had was my phone camera, but when Nickelback stopped the music, and turned off the lights and everyone got out their camera and took a picture, that was awesome. Like an in your face statement to the event staff that people have cameras whether you want them to or not. I said to my bf, see you could have brought it. So I didnt take to many pictures, but oo well.

Again, I am so sorry for those of you that missed Daughtry, I hope you get to see them in the future.

DAUGHTRY AND NICKELBACK ROCKED HERSHEY!!

I just read your review and it brought tears to my eyes. Maybe this is not the right place to say this, but my thoughts and prayers go out to you. I am so glad you had the chance to enjoy yourself at this amazing concert.

My family & friends were one of the lucky ones that got to see Daughtry, Staind, & Nickelback. I totally understand how the ones feel that weren't inside when Daughtry started. My heart would have been broken. That was the main reason I went with my 25 yr. old daughter & my 17 year old son & his friends.I live about approx. 1-1/2 hrs west of Hershey. I told my husband who stayed at home that I wanted to leave by 2 p.m. to get to Hershey early to avoid the traffice problems. He said to me that I shouldn't have to worry about traffic jams & parking because Hershey's concerts are their bread and butter and should be well orgazined. I am glad I read all the reviews that were posted on this site before Saturday. We didn't get stuck in any traffice jams and got right to the field where we had to park around 3:15. The only mishap I had on the way was that I hit a deer and damaged the front of my Explorer. I was glad that it was still drivable and I kept moving on.
We had time to go thru Chocolate World and grab a bite and get in line by 4:30. Daugtry was Amazing and I wished they were the featured band and played the whole show. But what they did sing sounded great. My daughter and I were wondering why all the empty seats when the concert was to be sold out. This was my son & his friends first concert and they thought all the bands Rocked and ready to go to more concerts. My daughter & I thought Nickelback was Amazing also. Anxious for Daughtry to appear at York Fair. Still haven't seen anything on the York Fair website. Leaving the parking lot was terrible. First we had trouble finding our car. Lot hardly lit up at all. It took us 1 hour 40 minutes to get out of the field. Got to our car after concert at 11 pm didn't get home until 2:30 a.m.
I'm glad everyone is letting Daugtry know why the stadium wasn't packed when they started.

I read posts before me and was amazed at what I saw. YES, of course, Daughtry put on a GREAT show. I just wish it had been longer and not still light for the WHOLE show. The reason I was amazed at what I read was because I live 2 hours away and left at 10:30 AM. I KNEW there was gonna be traffic (there was more than I expected in the parking areas). But because there IS a park there, we left early enough to enjoy the park and be able to get to the show with plenty of time. My friend and I hardly waited in line... we got to our seats BEFORE 6 PM. It was HOT but SOO worth it. We stayed for the fireworks and got out of the parking lot in like 5 mins. The only traffic we waited in was on the Skyukill because of 2 accidents.
Daughtry ROCKED as did Nickleback.
You guys MUST come to the Philly/Jersey area!! My seats we far and i want to be able to actually SEE you.

I must say last night show was absolutely incredible..Not only did you guys rock out there but you were super sweet and nice to my friend last night.. I will never forget the experience i had last night.. Cant wait to see you again.. Thank you Joey for everything ;o).. xo Susie

Ps. to all you fans that missed Daughtry i am truly sorry..That traffic was horrible.. Maybe if all of you write a letter to hershey explain the situation maybe for the next concert it will change have a good one Smiling

I have followed Chris since American Idol. From the beginning of the show, I thought he was the best singer. I was so excited to see him perform last night. The band had an awesome performance. I sang along to every song. Also, from my seating I could see backstage. So, I could see Chris skateboarding back and forth. The night was great! I will go see them again.

OK HERE IT GOES. FIRST OFF FANTASTIC CONCERT MY ONLY CONCERN WAS DAUGHTRY DID NOT HAVE THAT MUCH ROOM ON THE STAGE TO PERFORM. SINCE THE SHOW STARTED AT 6:30 THE SUN MADE IT HARD TO SEE HIM PERFORM. OTHER THAN THAT THE CONCERT WAS FANTASTIC AND CAN NOT WAT TO SEE HIM AGAIN. HOPEFULLY AS A HEADLINER.

NEXT COMES THE TRAFFIC. HERSERY DID NOT DO A GREAT JOB AT IT. THEY COULD OF PREPARED MORE, BUT HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR 30,000 MORE PEOPLE WHO COME AT THE SAME TIME. ALL THESE REVIEWS I HAVE READ ARE SAYING TRAFFIC TRAFFIC TRAFFIC. YOU ARE AT A THEME PARK, CHOCOLATE FACTORY AND SHOPPING MALL. YOU ALL READY HAVE 15,000 PEOPLE COMING AND GOING ADD THE CONCERT. I LIVE 2 1/2 HOURS AWAY, I WAS SMART ENOUGH TO GET THERE 2 HOURS BEFORE THE CONCERT BECAUSE I KNEW THERE WAS GOING TO BE TRAFFIC. GET REAL PEOPLE YOU WILL PROBABLY COMPLAIN IF YOUR HUNG WITH A NEW ROPE.

Wow, what a show!! I saw you guys last night at Hershey Park, PA. What a performance. To say you were great is an understatement!! You certainly put on a terrific show. Everyone around me was screaming for more!!
Chris, you have a way with the crowd! What a way to get everyone up for the show. You're a crowd pleaser to say the least!!
I have to say it's the best concert I've ever seen. Staind and Nickleback were excellent too.
My only problem was I didn't get enough of Daughtry!!! Even the crowd was yelling for more. Nothing against Staind but alot of people around me in the crowd were yelling to "bring back Daughtry!!!"
Hope to see you guys again soon! You simply rocked it!!!

Fan forever!!

I am totally upset that i missed you in concert at hershey. I bought my tickets through Ticketmaster and the webpage for ticketmaster stated the doors would open at 6:30. I even went to my local Boscov's to get my tickets and they said doors open at 6:30. My father and I got to the concert at 7:00 to avoid the crowds and thinking the doors would open at 6:30. I know that 6:30 was printed on the ticket, however we went by what the website said. We also have been to so many concerts and they always start later, we didn't think the concert would START AT 7:00 (like someone thinks I meant), just later. I also didn't think Daughtry would be up first. As we were walking up i heard you guys playing, you sounded awesome but i wish i could have seen you. We got to the stadium right when you guys stopped and left the stage. I was upset because you were the main reason my father and i were coming to see this concert. We drove from South Jersey, near Philadelphia, to see you perform. I believe the concert should have at least started later. Hershey should have made sure every website had all the info correct, handled traffic better, and maybe even delay the concert because traffic was so bad. I hope you come back to the PA/NJ area. I will totally make sure I do not miss you again. Other then this happening I thought it was a great concert.

The show was awesome I was reading the others saying they were stuck in traffic and they all should have gotten and e-mail telling them to leave early as they had a lot of other things going on that day. Well I like about an hour from Hershey and I left at 12 noon and waited the 5 hours to get in the gate. I was right up front in the BIG HUGE crowd screaming there asses off for Daughtry. It was totally awesome and would do it again. Awesome show guys and nice skating boarding after oh and awesome Transformer mask. AWESOME.

I traveled all the way from NYC to see you!!!! We reached Hershey about 5:45pm. We thought we had made it until the traffic to enter the stadium. I bought those tickets especially to see Daughtry especially since I had missed Irving Plaza. I was sorely disappointed that I could not see you. YOUR FANS DID NOT ABANDON YOU, HERSHEY PARK SCREWED THE BAND AND THE FANS. I hope you headline your own tour soon and make a stop near the NYC area. Know that you have thousands of fans in NYC, don't forget us, we supported you from the car we were stuck in as my heart broke. We missed STAIND as well and heard their music from the traffic jam. Nickelback was still awesome and at least you came out to shoot t-shirts at the fans. I love you guys!!!!

I was stuck in traffic for hours!! We walked for 2 miles and we got there about 6:30. By the time i got in Daughtry was just about finished!! Sad i was so sad !! i heard him when i was walking!! Idk why Hershey didnt start the concert later then that b-cuz of all the traffic!! Daughtry was the reason i bought a ticket! But im going to see them in York on Sept 14!! WOOOW!! I hope the traffic isnt bad then!! Who else had that same problem of being late and missing them????

I live 45 min away and left around 3pm - I really can't believe anyone would think that I wouldn't get to the show til close to 8pm! There is absolutely NO WAY to predict something like that traffic. In addition, I haven't heard anyone here bashing Daughtry for this, so why the claws to the fans that missed the show? I don't expect any sympathy but at least don't be flaming us and acting like we left with no time to spare. I had a 3 hour time-cushion, I really don't think that seems like I left at the last minute! Between sitting in traffic for over 3hrs and walking for another 45 minutes that time cushion just evaporated along with all the months of anticipation. And if you weren't in the traffic, you just cannot imagine what it was like. I have never in my life seen anything like it. Other people we talked to said the same thing. You seriously have no idea what it was like! Cars coming from every direction causing total gridlock for 15-30minutes a pop... no words to describe .......

I got to the park around 3pm. Considering i already had seats i didnt wait in line all that time. We went to hang out at Choc World of course. Then we did go and wait in the line for the show. Probably about 45 mins. I was wondering where all the fans were when i saw the stadium half empty when Daughtry came on. It was just tooo quiet. When i heard him say the words " I hope I'm not boring you" I felt bad that there wasn't much cheering going on. The stadium seemed pretty silent. BUT, when NIckelback came on the stands were packed solid and you could hear everyone. They did a really good job last night. I just wish the stadium was packed for Chris like it was for Nickelback. For those who were stuck in traffic i feel for you.
