This was posted over at The Daughtry Gang site and I totally agree! Daughtry should be nominated in at LEAST one category based on all the accolades the album has gotten since it was released. The comparison to Bon Jovi's first release in terms of sales vs. weeks on the chart ALONE should be enough to get a n0omination for best new artist. I can see nominations for that, for best album, for best song, for best rock album....the possibilities are endless!

Daughtry will take Best New Artist and there is no one even close, total sweep. I am a huge Linkin Park fan and I was worried about LP beating out Daughtry in Best Rock category, but the LP sucks and Daughtry will take 2 Grammy's for sure.... I know if there was one for hardest working and touring that they would take than one also. I saw them from row last Feb. 7th and going to State Fair in Salem..

Mary down below is right. So many people haven't really listened to Daughtry yet - and many will be surprised at his versaility! So many different songs they have yet to hear!
Those who loved him for being a rocker will stay true - but with ''Home' for instance, he will reach a whole new audience! Expecting it will be played on a wider range of radio stations and therefore reach a new audience - who will have to love it as soon as they hear it - I know! But though it is a slower song that will appeal to people not so much into 'rock' it still stays true to what he is - the video shows that!
Later on in the year things will be even better for Chris, look at the success he's had already with just one single and one album!

I think we might be in for the shock of a lifetime this year. The not-yet Daughtry fans still have more songs on the album they haven't heard yet. ..but they will. And when they do, sales and fan base will both increase. Daughtry JUST released their second song and they are already on FIRE right now! They will rock the Grammy's with Album of the Year, Best rock album, Best new artist, and there is a possibility for one more award
But they will definitely take the first three just trust me...no, just WATCH..

INO would be cool, but, to me, Album of the Year makes so much more sense. I know it's not based on sales, but sales should definitely indicate that it should at least be in consideration. Particularly since album sales in general have been so stagnant. Best New Artist is just obvious.
Funny, I've never given a whit about the Grammys. I had to look up the difference between Album of the Year and Record of the Year.

With the numbers they have produced so far. They are by far the best new band out there, (ya, i'm a little biast). These guys ROCK. I'll bet you a PENNY that these guys appear on the show, play on the show, and recieve rocks top HONORS.

I don't see how they don't get Best Album based on the numbers so far but at the very least they should bring home best new artist.
Not listed in the possible Album nominations? That was one I definately thought they had a chance of winning! I don't know what successes the others have had there- but achieving what Daughtry has would have taken some doing!
Same goes for Best New Artiste! Surely no-one has been as successful as Chris!
As for Best Song , be fantastic to see 'It's not over' win or be placed, but wouldn't it just be something if Chris was to be nominated with "Home' and win it - with his own song!
See by comments there, that some pople still don't have any respect for talent of people in the Idol contest - they obviously haven't bothered to find out just how talented and deserving to be there Chris is!
Anyway, fantastic to see Chris/Daughtry there anyway - he would never have imagined something like that a year ago!

That post also said the Grammy Nominations are released in September.........by then, HOME and WHAT I WANT could be contenders as well as INO!
I know this is the way it's gonna go down, but it's nice to hear the general public feels the same way as us DAUGHTRYians do!
