As we promised last night, we have a super important project for the most amazing fans out there - YOU!
Daughtry wants your help in making their performance on the American Music Awards as special as possible, and more importantly, they want it to be a tribute to you - the best fans out there.
To help, all you have to do is record your own fan made home videos around the themes of "Home" and Daughtry. Once we get some great videos from you, they will be edited to create a video piece that will air on the big screens behind Daughtry during their AMA performance on November 18!
Here are some 'home-ish' ideas to get you started:
*Military returning home
*Kids coming home from college
*Family around the dinner table
Here are particulars to keep in mind:
*No audio is needed, just visuals. Audio will not be used.
*Keep it clean.
*No brand named products on camera, please.
*Keep your recording to 2 MINUTES OR LESS.
*All videos must be submitted on Mini DV tape or DVD (saved as a data file).
*Print out, read, fill out & sign the PDF form found HERE. Your submitted video MUST include this release form or we will not be able to use your video.
*Every person appearing in your video must complete and submit a form. This means if there are multiple people appearing in your video, your video must be submitted along with MULTIPLE forms - one for each participant.

Send your videos on mini DV tape or DVD, along with your completed and signed release form(s) to the below address for delivery ASAP. We need all videos to arrive by Saturday, November 10, but the sooner the better. It's a rush - but if anyone can do it, it's Daughtry fans.

I know out of the million fans this will probably never reach you but yesterday a friend of mine lost the fight with cystic fibrosis. His name was Steve Jones. I know he tried to contact you as far as doing a benefit for him when you were in Buffalo NY and your manager was going to send tickets and v.i.p for myself and my sister so we could take him to the Syracuse concert. I just wanted to let you know how much more of a meaning the song "Home" has given us. Last night watching the A.M.A awards listening...really hearing the words to that song really gave all of his friends and family comfort knowing that he went home. I just wanted to thank you for writing that song for whatever reason and just wanted you to know how comforting it was. All my love~ Marissa

I so wanted to.
My husband is in the military and he actually LEAVES for Afghanistan in 3 weeks
He will be gone around 9 months.. so our coming home will be next year, but I really wanted to do a video for the AMA's but ya know I'm just glad that we can see all the other family fans right there with Chris and the rest of the band on the 18th and I hope and pray that they get every award they deserve! yay! I've been burning usps.com up tracking my package to see if it was delivered as planned which was yesterday before noon and it did!!!! It was delivered and signed for at 11:30 yesterday!!! So exciting! Now I just hope it shows mine even if it is a split second of it! Can't wait to watch! Lookin forward to see everyone elses clips too!

I have a great video concept. If you would have given me 6 months, a camera crew and some actors, I could have make an awesome video. There is no way with the time that I can get it done though. I am going to try to send in a video, but it isn't the idea I like best. If I send it tomorrow, and overnight it, will it get there in time????

Clips of Troops, get them in if you have them
This is a great idea for Daughty and the AMA. What they need are short, good quality clips of your loved one coming home from the War. If you only have a few seconds of yourself embracing a loved one or running to your loved one , that would be enough and perfect. They will take all the clips and mix them into something that could be a powerful reminder to Americans of the sacrifice our troops and their families make every day. I hope the troops are a big part of this montage and I hope that you hustle and get anything you have too them. The song "Home" is a perfect anthem for our wishes that our troops come home soon, and safe.

That is so awesome you guys get to perform on AMAs . Your idea for fans to send video clips is so cool. I don't have cable right now but i will make sure i find a way to watch it . If i have to i'll go to work to do my paper work and monitor my staff just so i can see you guys perform and i'll tell them not to touch the T.V. because i can (ha ha). You guys are going to kick a** can't wait to see it.

Just a thought to the International fans
It would cost you some money but you can overnight thru DHL for express delivery but I know it cost $$$. I fedex'd priority international envelop to Europe and it cost me about $25.00 and those were papers I had to declare the value and other stuff so I put 0 for the value. I think it would be cool to get some International fans videos up. Good Luck to all!!!

There are a couple of clips from Roger's video that would be great but here is my question...one is of a soldier named Sgt. Matthew Jacobs who did a cover of Home from his barracks in Baqubah, Iraq. He LOVES Daughtry and this song is very near and dear to his heart. Here are his words as to what the song "Home" means to him and where he first heard it:
"I have a buddy who had the CD and was playing it one night in our tank. I heard that song and It made me think about Home, my family, My wife, My life before I was here fighting almost every day. To me that song has alot of meaning to me, because I would leave this whole kind of life behind just to be back with my loved ones."
There is a clip of this in one of Roger's videos. We have direct contact with him, but he is still in Iraq. Can a release form be faxed, or how could he get his consent to you? The same with another clip Roger used in his video of Sgt. John Kriesel returning home to Minnesota for the first time since losing both legs during an attack in Iraq, to the open arms of his two young sons with whom he had been separated for many months while he was hospitalized at Walter Reed. They would both consent, but what is the best way to get it to you and meet the deadline? Roger also has a clip of himself returning home to his family from Vietnam, I will mention this to him.
We love Bosphotoman's videos...
but due to legal constraints beyond our control, we need to have a signed release form for every person appearing in any video we use. If that can be provided, we can try to use it...

The "Home" videos madeby Bos are stunning, IMHO. With nearly half a million Youtube views, they are very popular, and highly regarded!

DOUBLE DITTO for using footage from one of Bosphotoman's Home videos. America would be talking about it for days!!!! He still gets incredible comments on these videos, many which include comments like, "the best video I have ever seen". Just a mention...Bos is a Marine and Vietnam Veteran and a HUGE fan of Daughtry....just wanted to say HAPPY VETERANS DAY BOS from all of us "crazy" Daughtry fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What Squishy and The biker chic say about Bosphotoman's version of "HOME" he made last year at chris's homecoming. It is unbelievable, and totally moves you from deep within. Very personal and touching. Even if you use just some of it, you will get the meaning of what he was doing. Bobby is an incredible video maker, you nor America would be dissappointed.
