The acoustic version of 'What about Now' ,whilst sat amongst lots of African children was amazing. It was made even more touching when all the children joined in with the chorus - it made the words to the song even more poignant. Very special. xx

When Nights were Clear ..... Your the First Star that I'd See......

Glad to see that bands like you are using their fame to help others. Watching you on American Idol got me to the point of crying. It's devastating to see what people over there are going through. People just like us..but born in to poverty, or other terrible situations. Puts a smile on my face knowing that because of American Idol Gives Back, much money will be raised to go to these families. Love the song "What About Now". It is so beautiful. Love hearing it live!

My brother died from AIDS related complications in 1996 when he was in his early 30's. I have been a member of One for almost two years now. I just wish I knew about it sooner! It's a great cause and I am proud to be involved! I am also extremely excited to see that Daughtry is a supporter as well! So, not only is he an awesome singer, and amazingly gorgeous, he also has a heart! WOW, my kinda guy!

Thanks Daughtry for supporting something so important and spreading the message!

You guys made me so proud!!

The segment on Idol Gives Back brought a tear to my eye. What Chris, Joey, and Josh did for the people of Uganda, even if it was for a short amount of time, was truly amazing. You all truly have a heart of gold. The song What About Now was the perfect song, and hearing them singing the words put a smile on my face. To see the happiness in their eyes, and even all the other segments the happiness in everyone's eyes to see that whoever was there cared. I love Idol Gives Back, it brings an awareness to what is going on in the world. It inspired me!

Some people call me a Daughtry dork, but I'm gosh darn proud to be a Daughtry dork!

I watched the Idol Gives back here in the UK last night and was so moved by the support given by all the celebs who took part. THink the show was edited down but to see the guys making the children smile....especially loved the acoustic version of "What about now" it's always been my favourite! It's has inspired me to give back myself, and have decided to do my part to raise money for a worthy cause.

I urge everyone who reads this to do the same. xxxx

A big "THANK YOU" to Chris, Joey, and Josh for a touching segment on Idol Gives Back! My family and I watched the show and were truly moved by the show. LOVED your video on IDOL GIVES BACK. Those children and families and their living conditions there in Africa...were just heart breaking..In the small amout of time you guys had to spend there, you all brought smiles, laughter, songs and hope to those in dire need of our support and attention. I loved your acoustic song of What About Now..which was so fitting for the message and your voice was AMAZING singing it.. I have donated to the ONE charity and I know my donation will help..altho..in a small way...but added to others..will be HUGE. EVERY MEMBER of DAUGHTRY is a wonderful human being and very charitable to the less fortunate. It's hard to believe that in just America alone, we were able to raise over 60 million dollars for these causes. I am not rich, but we manage and being a school nurse in a low-income district, I see the poverty. Although I sometimes don't understand why our children in American shouldn't come first, I am greatful that everyone came together and donated.

I was absolutely moved by Daughtry's appearance on AI, you looked and sounded amazing. To be in a postion of such influence must bring the most rewarding feeling to your heart at the end of the day. You are such a great role model for everyone and I will be at the concert tomorrow in Glendale, AZ. Despite my many attempts to obtain VIP tickets I had to purchase regular, average tickets but that's okay because nothing else can sooth my "OCDD"(obsessive Chris Daughtry disorder) better than being there live. Rock on!

15 if you count the idols shows! Eye-wink

Hi Chris saw the video last night, I can't express how sad I felt, and how proud I felt to be your fan! Thank you for helping these children and for taking time to travel there and make this video, I posted the video to myspace.com/ericakhodr It's true we can all make a difference in this world!!!!
Thank you again.....love you so much....

I tell my husband of how much it means to me to touch the lives of children every day as a teacher of the visually impaired, and how seeing that when even the smallest changes happen, a community is stronger, and also our own lives become full of meaning. When I find myself focusing too heavily on the difficulties that our own family faces, the raising of our children, the financial and health decisions we make, the ability to stay focused on our happiness, then life seems harder. When our focus becomes the wellbeing of others, life gives back tenfold. The entire 'Give Back' event draws upon our desire to reach beyond our own struggles so that we may benefit in ways we may never fully understand. Like Rhonda Byrne's discovery of The Secret...Let's be grateful that there are those people out there (like Daughtry) who can recognize and bring their own successes to greater meaning through the service and support of humanity on such a large scale, but remember that every single effort makes a difference no matter how small. I'm so proud of Ya'll!

That was the most amazing, touching performance I have ever seen! So much emotion and passion was displayed in that video. There is not another rock band out there that has what these 5 guys who are Daughtry posess. They are the most caring, giving, passionate, deserving, and TALENTED guys around! You guys are all exactly where you are supposed to be, doing exactly what you were meant to be doing, and touching so many people with your talent. I am soooo proud to be a Daughtry Fan! Thank you so much for all you do and staying true and grounded while your success continues to climb. You are a #1 Class Act!
Your fan,
Kathy
P.S. Can't wait to hear the sophmore CD!!!!!!

Thank you guuys for that wonderful video and for showing the world the heart of gold you all have:-) It was such a beautiful and touching video, watching the guys with those kids and the kids singing along to What About Now...so sweet I had tears in my eyes!! you guys are AMAZING!!! I hope that the show brought in alot of donations for all those poor people suffering!! Great job guys like always, God Bless you for all that you do for your fans, and the world:-)

Life Without Daughtry Has No Meaning!!!

Your video was my favorite of the night, by far! I love how all of the children were singing the song by the end. It is a perfect example of how music is "universal" if you will. It is something that can affect everyone and the emotion can be shared by everyone. The look on their faces when you were playing and singing, was priceless. You took them to a place where they could, for just a moment, forget about the struggles in their lives. I applaud you for that and I know how difficult it must have been for you to see families living like that. I would want to bring them home with me. I would have had a hard time leaving. I felt the same for all of the families shown on the program. The ones in Africa and the US. That's why we must give what we can. No matter how much. I have and I challenge everyone who reads this to do the same. It is true, together we can make a difference.

I wrote at least a year ago, that DAUGHTRY would change the world.............in many ways, from the music, to how you are with your families and in your relationships, and how important they are to you, to the music, to your heart felt inspriations which we are now seeing with ONE. I was brought to tears as Joey reached for the person in bed, & you & Chris helped them up. We can only imagine the abject poverty some people feel everyday. Thank you for showing you care. I am sure you have geen GREATLY touched by your trip to Uganda.

Thank you Daughtry for showing the world NOW, instead of 5 or 10 years down the road, that we can as indiviuals make a difference. You all know the power of a fanbase too, and we are behind you 300% although I bet that never entered your minds. You are all the most gracious, grateful guys I've ever ever met and take nothing for granted. Thank you for making a difference in our world.
love you all.
Diana

I guess I was hoping to see Daughtry looking at American poverty like some of the other artists did.
Trust me, I'm very political and I know what's going on in Africa, it has been that way for years. Good to see that Pitt came forward for NOLA and that Jolie stayed quiet. She has done a great job in getting people to help. Perhaps I worry much for this country as I see it the way Elizabeth and John Edwards do. Did you see Miley and her Dad in KY?

Anyway, glad you were able to be where you wanted to be. Home is where the heart is.
Many blessings to you and yours.

"Are you telling me that we're gonna sit at a table and negotiate with those people?"
~John Edwards

I am writing this to let you know that I am I diehard Daughtry fan. I am slowly becoming the person I have always been inside. I have always wanted to be a giving person but life has gotten in the way. As it does with everyone between Clinton’s book the GIVING and a in 20/20 talking about Camden NJ and being inspired by DAUGHTRY to give.
When you really stop think how much I have alone spent going to 7 Daughtry shows it at least a couple of thousand. I have been completely satisfied with the shows.

Those Dollars could have done some where else. I know it would not cure a diease or pull a country out of poverty but it would have help. I feel that this is the new life's journey that I have to lead to set a good example for my children. So every time I feel the urge to get a DAUGHTRY fix I promise to donate money to a good cause. So I am not given up on Daughtry I believe that money can go to a good cause

I am so blessed to be able to have the capability and to know that I am very thankful to GOD for providing for us as a family.

You guys did an amazing job and just seeing the interaction between the three of you and the kids and the words to your song brought tears to my eyes! I loved when the kids started singing What About Now with you guys and seeing the huge smiles on their faces. It is amazing to see how much we (both Canadians and Americans) have and how little the people in Africa have, yet they all seem so happy. It really makes me think how unfare the world truly is and that my problems seem so small and meaningless compared to this. I am doing what I am able right now but I just wish that there was more I could do at this time to help everyone around the world in situations like this and to create a world where everyone is equal. I know that there is A LOT of work to be done to create that, but hopefully, with the help of everyone, one day that can be achieved! I look forward to contributing and helping in any way I can to help these wonderful people and just hope that everyone else can do their part as well. It is wonderful to see more and more people acknowledging that we have a problem and doing what they can to change this.

Thank you for all you do and giving back!!! Keep up the good work guys and keep sharing those HUGE hearts of yours...I know I will Smiling

**Never take for granted what you do have because there are those who are less fortunate**

I am so proud of Daughtry and what have done.and not taken it for granted and giving back to great causes and to their fans.
we are thankful for the blessing of their music.
daughtry also
knows that they are blessed.

thank you
Jodi

The show was great and Daughtry's video was a great ending to a wonderful night. I am so proud of them and all they do to "give back" to not only the world, but their fans. What an amazing group of guys! That's why we love ya so much!

The kids & I sat & watched the show! My son & I are HUGE fans ...he was so impatient & looked at me @ 9:55 and said they aren't coming on mom... I said YES THEY ARE..Wait we got 5 mins. They yall were! The best of the night. i held my scream back for the best song of the album and my tears so my son wouldn't think i was a sap for crying at the TV. AMAZING absolute AMAZING.
