Kris and Adam are my picks this season. Kris seems very sweet. Love his voice too.

I was never really a Kris Allen fan BUT his cover of Let It Be on Idol the other night was AMAZING! So beautiful!! I bought it from Itunes.

And most certainly, it merits being on the album. What a shame it wasn't. But bonus song is still getting to a lot of people and they're hearing what Daughtry can do.
Got the album yesterday - without the Chris song. And was playing it non-stop. At first time of listening really liked the sound of every single song. Getting to know them more as hearing more. An album that was worth buying and good luck to Kris with it!
Really pleased to see so many of Kris's own songs too.
As well as the Chris sound, love the Script influence. The Script and Daughtry so different, but somehow both suiting Kris here!
And funny how 2 of my absolute favourite bands are coming together with Kris here.

I saw Chris say that his song was the bonus track. Think it's great that Chris is part of this album, especially as he supported Kris on the show, but shame it's not a regular track! I won't be able to get that one here!
Would really appreciate a link to hear it if you know of one!

Asked if the album was available here yet today, and told it's in transit, they're waiting for it to arrive! At least I know it's coming!

I got the Walmart version so I could get the bonus track with Chris. Love that song. And there are quite a few good songs on the CD. Good debut effort from Kris.

Only got back in the country last week, so out of touch with what's been going on in the music world. Since back kept hearing a song on the radio I really liked.
It sounded so much like The Script who I love, but knew it wasn't them.
Then finally heard the announcer say it Was Kris Allen. Well, what a surprise!
Am so glad Kris's single sounds like this, current and the sound that is heard so much today - and that I really like!
Is doing well here in NZ. 21 on the National radio station I listen to in Top 40 of the week, up from 25 last week.
In the Official singles charts is 27 - but down from 18 last week.
Can't wait to hear the album - out today, and will look to see if we have it in the shops here in NZ!
Must say The Script is one of my 3 favourite groups - up there with Daughtry and Rob Thomas/MB20.
So very happy to find Kris performing their kind of music!

Thanks for the link aldgurl. Right after I posted here I actually went to you tube to find it. Whyyyyyy is Kris not doing an original song? Sure, this song was not really released but I have heard of the band the Script. I just think that the whole "doing a cover" song will seem "cheesy idol". And it sounds just like the Scripts version. There are already negative comments on You Tube. I don't know.....maybe put this song on the record but don't use a cover as his first single. I just think Kris needs all the POSITIVE publicity he can get, ya know. Hopefully he will make this song a hit that the Script could never do. I like it though.

But just OK for me. Definitely Jason Mraz-ish. But I'm a rocker chic, so it's just not really my thing. He did get a lot of good feedback, I listened to his iive interview Monday morning right after the debut of the single. So hopefully it will do good. I wish him well, he seems like a good guy.

Kris really does seem to know how to pick just the right songs for him and interprets them so well too.
Can't wait to hear his own songs! With luck his own music will be on his album, and not songs just picked for him!!! He does seem like he stands up for what he wants and believes is right for him!
I have read about him meeting and writing with others, but not with Chris! Wonder if Chris would have time now - and for the forseeable future!!!! So much going on for him!

I came to post about Kris' song being used on So You Think You Can Dance but Terri beat me to it.
I love the Fray's lyrics~ some of the best out there imo ~so that is good news!! A Chris D collab would be the best though!!
So Kris doesn't sing his AI song on tour? GOOD!! Kris so got ripped off with that song! Even though most of those songs are not very good, at least the AI winner gets their name out there and on the radio right away. David Cook did quite well with his as did Kelly C and Underwood. Well, maybe this will work to Kris' advantage. He is laying low and people will forget about AI and he can shake the AI persona and come out fresh

I loved hearing about his journey ~ how he was late for the audition and just started to sing to grab the attention of the producers. Then the delay that happened that allowed him to pee (with Simon and Randy!) Some things are just meant to be!
Gotta love this:

You should go! It's a fun time. The first year I went was Season 6 and I just wanted to take my daughter since she's a big idol fan. I didn't expect to really enjoy it so I was pleasantly surprised. They sing the songs that are currently on the hit charts. Last year's show was even better I thought. You realize just how good those Idols can sing, they are all very talented and sound even better live. But I do still think $68 a ticket is way too expensive.

It was really cheesy back then (group 70's medleys, and the whole sha-bang), and I decided to quit going. Then when Chris was on, I wish I would've gone, and I wish I would've gone last year too - that was a good bunch, but I decided to go too late, and all the decent tickets were gone. I'm not completely interested in in this year, except for Kris and Matt. I'm not going to pay that much money to see a show that I'm mostly not interested in.

I think people are making a big deal over his sexuality which is stupid. If you like the guy's music and talent then that should be the focus!!
I think Kris and Chris are lucky they don't have to deal with what poor Adam has to deal with.

Cheeks, I think you're so right. Nothing controversial about Kris - or Chris! so nothing to make the headlines right now!!!!
But you know what - I don't think Kris would have it any other way!!!!
But over the last few years, Chris has earnt nothing but respect from so many - in the music industry and the fans and public!!
In time, when the publicity about Adam has been forgotten, there will be the same respect, for Kris and his values and well as his many talents - just like Chris.

I do feel that the media blitz on Adam is somewhat unfair. ( I know, someone call me a waaaambulance!) But, that is the way our world is. Every one wants a story. Controversy. A straight., small town, married, never tried drugs, young man who leads worship in his church is not headline worthy. I always felt like Chris Daughtry was the same way. Sure, there have been some very nice articles written about him and the band over the years, but it seemed to take forever to get real respect. (clarify~ Everyone Chris has met or worked with over the years respects him as a person greatly....I mean like to even get a mention in like Rolling Stone...) Hopefully Kris' simplicity and great voice will have the same result as Daughtry!!!

I know Chris did get some of his own music on his album but he wasn't a winner, so likely had more say - and not so much control over what he did!!!!
Real glad too, that Allison is signed up and good luck to her. She has a lot of potential!
The record company is very lucky this year, to have such talented people to work with - and all so very different!

I hear that there seems to be more press focus on Adam in the US!
Kris doesn't need sensationalism! He's quieter and more laid back.
Kris just being himself is the Kris everyone loved and voted for.
He's not out there in your face, that's not him!!!!!
Adam being a stage performer is used to doing just that - performing to the public!!!
Just 2 very different people and a place for them both.
