The Hook: Chris has obvious vocal and musical talent. Singing, songwriting and arranging are all things that seem to come naturally to him. His flexibility has tremendous appeal (see covers of U2's Bloody Sunday or Elton John's Rocketman). I'll admit it, like a junkie needing a fix, I bought the Absent Element cd to hold me over until Daughtry was released
The Line: Being a family man and showing no shame in it. In today's world it seems easier to follow a path that promotes the opposite of what Chris stands for in his life. Watching his family talk about him on Idol got me all choked up. These things coupled with his dedication to the craft, makes him deserving of great success.
The Sinker: It seems as though the band itself is a representation of his ethics. There's Joey from his days rockin' the Tarheel State (my home state!) and Josh S. who seems to really love and appreciate his wife (sigh). There's lots of warm fuzzies in knowing the money I spend on music and products goes to support a group like this
So there you have it, I'm in deep - hook, line and sinker!
