To keep it brief-Daughtry keeps me sane. The heartfelt lyrics, the charismatic performances, the obvious talent, the stunning personalities and the dedication...it's all part of what makes this band so inspiring. Five humble, talented rockers just living their dreams inviting fans of all ages and backgrounds to step aside from their normal, monotonous life for a little bit and show them the true meaning of rock-and-roll. As if putting on a killer show night after night isn't good enough, they also take the time to keep in touch with their dedicated, loving (semi-crazy) fans. They don't NEED to sign that 8x10 of the band, they don't NEED to acknowledge you and hop in a picture with you but they do, and they do it with a big smile and a heavy heart. Although I haven't been lucky enough to actually meet the guys yet, I know my time will come. It's not about the pictures or autographs, it's about feeling like you matter. I want the opportunity to say "you know what? For a brief amount of time, I was the only person talking to Chris Daughtry. I was the only one that mattered in that 60 seconds." It must be a tremendous feeling to meet your hero and I just hope that one day I'm able to share my appreciation for band with them personally.
