I am a fan (and you should be too), because..Daughtry has a compelling, absorbing, "reach down into your soul" quality that is beyond words. In my college humanities class I was taught a term called "Presentational Immediacy." As I recall the concept goes something like this....when you are confronted by artistry that is so consuming that you become totally present in the moment.Your life exists only in that moment. I now understand the power of this state of mind. There are no distractions- no worries- you are totally absorbed in the experience. We are able to participate in the magic of true artistry. These are precious few moments in life and occur too rarely. I always have this experience when I view/listen to Daughtry. I felt this every time I saw Chris perform, watched the band do an appearance, and all the many many times I listened to the cd. It is an awesome feeling and I am always grateful for the experience.
