I am a fan (and you should be too), because...Chris in simple words is the man!! ...I can't sit here and have a story because I don't have a history of much, I can't try to make people feel for me with anything because I simply can't. All I can do is be honest and sit here and tell you why I truly am a fan...
This past season of American Idol was the first actual interesting one in a couple years, maybe since the first one with Kelly. I've watched every season but this last one I actually couldn't wait for the next episode to come on each week. I've honestly never voted because I need to save money lol, but every week I watched Chris I knew he'd go far. I knew form the rehearsal that he was probably my favorite going into that season. Well it ended up being true. It's something about his singing that makes me want to hear more. I think I was as surprised as anyone when little miss MchPhee, who I can't stand , beat out Chris somehow that week when we all know she didn't do as well.
I tried hard to get tickets to the american idols tour this year and ended up getting them. This again was the first tour I was actually interested in going to because Chris really is my favorite artist to ever comeout of American Idol. He was great there, I especiall liked the "saving me" duet with Elliot.
I couldn't wait for Chris to come out with a cd and now he has and it has been a HUGE success. Honestly, the past idols, besides Kelly and Carrie (both winners), haven't had much success. The non winners may have a hit but never anything big. Chris, and not sucking up, has been the first non-winner I have seen with this much publicity and success after only weeks of releasing their first single and album. Everyone I know who has heard him has loved him and as the charts show, Daughtry rocks!!! Every song is great from It's not over to Over you (my favorite) to What I want to All these lives. I love most of these songs that, even though I'm not great, I have learned to play on the guitar because I want to be able to share that much with Chris and Daughtry that I can possible.
It's not only Chris but the band is great too. I'm sad to hear Jeremy left but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. The band is amazing with their rhytms and style of music. Most cd's I listen to once, if their lucky, or if I even want to listen to the whole thing besides the one hit, but with Daughtry...I got the cd as a gift from my girlfriend which she let me open a couple weeks before christmas because I was so anxious lol, and it has been on non-stop in my car since, no lie, swear on my soul. I just can't get enough. I usually get sick of a cd but it just isn't happening!!
I tried getting tickets to the concert but like everyone has been saying, the ticket scalpers stole them and haev jacked up the prices. So unless I find a cheap deal somewhere or win these VIP tickets, I won't be able to go because I just can't afford it with college and all. It's hard, and I guess I will have to sacrifice and just listen to the cd and check out some more videos. I really appreciate the music you have given us Daughtry and the amazing success you guys are having. Everybody should be a fan because Daughtry is a godsend and there won't be another down to earth, and in your face amazing sstyle like this for a long time. If I could only listen to one band for the rest of my life it would be Daughtry and I can guarantee you I would not get sick of it.
So in conclusion, I just want to thank you Daughtry for giving me something to truly love. Sorry about this long essay but the meanings can't be expressed in words. You guys are amazing and I wish you outstanding and fantastic success. Keep up the good work
