You were great!! I had the time of my life--only wish I had been able to let my 6 yr old son, Tristan Steele, see you-he is a HUGE fan!!! Your CD is the only thing he wants to listen to, and I can't say that I blame him. Your voice is incredible--could listen to you all night long...you made fighting the crowds at Memphis in May worth the effort this year. Thank you! Hope you enjoyed Memphis and will come back again!
prncesskimberly
I've got to tell you that I've been a huge fan since your first audition on Idol. I was so impressed by you that I called my wife in Orlando, at the National Cheerleading Competition, to have her listen to you over the phone. The band is great! You guys are huge, and I think your fame will be uncontrollable in a very short time.
My wife and I couldn't wait to see you guys at Memphis in May. We've attended many Memphis in May Festivals, and I have to tell you that you guys were the best we've ever seen. I mean, it even blew our minds when we saw people actually fill the riverfront hillside, cause they couldn't fit all of your fans into the crowd. You guys rocked and absolutely amazed Memphis. We can only hope that you will make a trip to Memphis whenever you can. We will DEFINITELY be in the crowd somewhere. You were truly fantastic. And I know it's usually not the greatest thing to hear that your show was super clean for all ages and still rock, but you guys pulled off the unimagineable. You took Memphis by storm, and rocked every age out there. Here's to you guys! I now have a new favorite band!
yea it was my 1st time at the music fest. and the 1st time ive seen ya'll live! it was extremely hot and even more crowded than i imagined...but it was SO worth it. i got about 15 ft from the stage! IT was the greatest ... really even though it was crowded and we couldnt breathe ..no one cared about that once yall came out...
im extremely happy that yall havent let any of the fame get to your head. i just wanted to tell yall that yall are the GREATEST and dont change a thing!
good luck with everything to come!!!
ANd PLEASE come back soon!!!

o and the comment you made about n.carolina havin better bar-bq, chris, yea sorry im not so sure bout that :)LOL
I, like many others, could not wait to see Daughtry because I too have been a fan since Idol. I have not watched Idol since Daughtry got voted off, which includes this year. My husband and I have been going to the music festival for 9 years now for our anniversary and we were thinking about not attending this year because of the line up. The only person that drew us to the music festival was DAUGHTRY. That was the only act we actually sat through a whole show. I was very proud and excited to hear Chris sing. He was a awesome act with a great clean mouth. He will be an act that I will take my children to see at any time. I will not let them see Hinder or Papa Roach or among others as long as they are in my house. It was refreshing to see someone realize that they have the voice and don't need all other things to make him the person he is. Thank you DAUGHTRY and here is to a wonderful future!
So my cousin and I drove 6 hours down to Memphis just to see Daughtry. I also saw them in Louisville but I was very very impressed with the huge turnout for Chris,Joey, Josh Steely, and Brian (no JP) on a bigger stage. I wasn't really amazed by all the fans sitting on the hill because who doesn't love Daughtry? I was also very impressed by the fact that Chris didn't have to drop the f-bomb or any other cussword just to get the crowd riled up! They were a breath of fresh air after Papa Roach and a breat of fresh air before Hinder. My cousin and I didn't stick around very long for Hinder because I wanted to see John Legend (he was so amazing). Anyways I will post a longer review in my profile with pics in the days to come!
I'm so bummed. I had to miss the show because I had an ectopic pregnancy and I was afraid to travel to Memphis. Believe me it was a very hard decision not to go. Fortunately, the friend I was going with asked another friend to go and they had the best time. Evie even called and held up her cell phone until the battery ran out so I could hear the music. When Chris talked, it was like he was talking in the phone to me. Even though I missed out on an awesome show, I'm grateful that I got to hear some of it. I know I will get to see a future show, and I'm so glad Daughtry rocked Memphis!
I couldn't WAIT to see you at MusicFest... I saw you at Newby's and you were SOOOO good but you were getting over a cold and I could tell you felt so much better this time! I think you rocked the crowd and I can't wait to see you again!! I am driving everyone crazy trying to find out where to see you next!! I had not been to MusicFest in years and nothing would have kept me from being there! Congrats on all of your success! You deserve it!

Stephanie (is obsessed with Daughtry!)
I had been driving my husband crazy talking about going to see Daughtry at MusicFest. Starting when we were there Friday, I would occasionally turn to him and say "Guess What...It's only a day and half to Sunday"...I generally avoid the stage area at MusicFest like the plague but I pushed my way up as far as I could (which still wasn't near close enough) and my husband even put me on his shoulders for a couple of songs. Chris, you were awesome! Even my friend Sarah kept saying how hot you were. My only complaint is that the show wasn't long enough but I know that wasn't your fault. I was swooning for several hours afterward and was so excited that you did Rocketman. I saw the Stripped video of it awhile ago and loved it. I can't wait until you start booking larger venues so I can see you again. But until then, I'll stand in a monsoon or heat wave to see again. Thanks for the best show I've seen at MusicFest in a long time.
Well I just want to say that you guys were absolutely amazing in Memphis this past sunday, may 6. I was right there at the front to enjoy it but just let me tell you that I was nearly squished to death to be there. The Project Pat crowd was a bit rough but their violent shoving is part of the reason why I got as close as I did so I guess it's ok. It was totally worth it though. It really seemed like you guys enjoyed playing for a crowd that size. Hopefully you will get to see many many more like that. Just one question though, where was your usual bassist, Josh Paul? Just curious. Anyway, seriously great show, much love, hope to catch you again sometime in the near future.
You guys were awesome! What a crowd you drew in to your show. I was "smothered" in with the crowd about 20ft from the stage and at one point we looked up and the entire hillside, along with the ground in front of the stage, was packed with people there to see you. After your show, my husband and I had nearly walked to the second stage before we got to a point where the crowd started thinning out! It was fantastic and we had a blast!!!
actually got to go to memphis in may even though i just found out i was 6 weeks pregnant. i actually started having some problems that morning but couldn't think of missing daughtry play. thank goodness everything is fine with the baby. i was pretty close to the stage and let me say chris you are so hot!! you guys were great!! i would love to come and see you at one of your actual concerts where things are a little more controlled. the crowd was so crazy and all the people that came to see you perform was amazing!! i agree with some of the others saying it was nice that you didn't have to use the profanity that some of the other bands used. i really like hinder too but the language they used was a little overboard. not to mention that some people next to me decided to light up some pot and that is the last thing a pregnant woman needs to smell!! i would love to see you guys again soon!! you guys rocked!!
This was the 2nd time I saw you and I hope it's not the last. You were amazing! The crowd was huge and we all loved you. What I loved the most is your class. You didn't need to come out and swear at the crowd to make it crazy, all you have to do is sing and the everyone goes nuts. I don't know why other bands have to use such offensive language! What a turn off. You're the best!
what a great show..we were there when the gates open and got to meet chris and got his autograph and got to snap a few good pictures ..he was walking by the fence area and when we yelled for a autograph he didnt think twice and stop to talk..thanks chris you made my whole day ..we were right in front of the stage and he put on a awesome show cant wait to see you again,,,
Three crazy days in Memphis it was a blast! There were so many bands there that have been around for quite some time but no one rocked it out like Daughtry! it was awesome I was up toward front packed in tight with all the odors floating through the air and all the intoxicated croud surfers!....... but it was sooo worth it Chris put on the best show of the whole 3 day festival! They should have saved the best for last! Rock on Chris!
I drove for over 8 hours from Peoria, IL for Memphis is May just to see Daughtry! It was an awesome show, even though I was so far back that Chris looked like a speck on the stage. It was worth the all afternoon wait and the downpours (My shoes are still going "squish, squish") When I got home yesterday, my tickets to the show at the Illinois State Fair were in my mailbox! Yeah! I can't wait to see them again. This time I intend to get a lot closer!
okay, so, was memphis in may crazy, or what? so, i don't think there was one empty spot in the place when Daughtry hit the stage... at one point, i looked over my shoulder and could not believe the crowd up on the hill just to see them! that was awesome. also, thanks for not encouraging mosh pits like some bands.. uhhh. papa roach, but i don't want to mention names!

I agree 100%. We took our daughter who was in HEAVEN and he never ONCE was offensive or inappropriate (not that i expected him to be). Heck even Project Pat was like sesame street compared to papa roach . I loved the show and although my husband's shoulder's were sore from my daughter being on them the whole show it was amazing. I cant wait to see him again. Maybe in a more "controlled" space like the fed ex forum and i ONLY say that bc i was soo hot and couldn't breathe in that amazing crowd.

You belong somewhere you feel free....Tom Petty
Ok, so my husband and I were really close up front, in the midst of a huge group of teenagers. It was so hot in the crowd, but was so worth it!
This is the second time I have seen Daughtry, once in a small venue, and then last night. At one pont we turned around and looked out over the crowd, and there was not an empty place anywhere, not even up on the steep hill. I think Chris was awed by the responce from the crowd, because everyone was so into it. He sounded fabulous, and when he sang Rocket Man I got goose bumps.
The one thing that strikes me as so wonderful about Daughtry's concerts is they are so family friendly. Unlike Papa Roach and Hinder (who were both really good), Chris doesnt drop the F bomb every chance he gets or comment that the pot smells good.
And the last thing I want to say is, Daughtry should have headlined that show last night, in my opinion the crowd did the talking. It was so much more packed for Daughtry than for anyone else. Its time to move into the mega spotlight, because thats were they belong.
I actually got to go!! I was so pumped, all I wanted to do was to go see Chris Daughtry. There were 6 people in front of me during the Papa Roach concert-which was awesome, then when they were finshed there were three people in front of me and we were waiting on Project Pat. A full 20 ounce coke bottle came flying through the air and hit me in the head and busted my head open. They had to carry me out of the front and over the railings. I had to sit in the back behind the stage area and get my head checked out. So, I missed Project Pat and lost my front row to see Daughtry. I was back there and did see Hinder and Papa Roach though. I was still back there when Daughtry came on stage. The "event staff" lady that was back there with me let me go to the very front to see Daughtry. I was so close. I was between the railings and the stage. If he would have came over to the other side of the stage where I was, he would have accidentally spit on me I was so close. Then this jerk in a red shirt and came and kicked me out. He told me that I had to leave the front and leave from back behind the stage, even though my head was still bleeding. I was so upset. I could hardle walk I was so dizzy, much less try to fight the crowds to see Daughtry. So I had to leave. I got to watch him perform 3 songs. So Chris, if you are reading this, I was the girl up front with the paper towel held to my blond with blood highlights head. I was totally bummed that I didn't get to see him perform the whole time, but being that close for only 3 songs was pretty amazing too. Chris you totally rocked-at least the first three songs did. lol
GREAT show tonight. They were awesome. Thanks Chris for waving to my 5 year old daughter and pointing her out. I think you made her year. Great show!!!!!! She also can't get over seeing you backstage by the trailer . She is still giddy. Thanks for a clean show that I could take my child to but very very entertaining!!! Hope you come back soon!!!!

Chris, dude. Your the bomb, man. You really rock!!!! I'll give your your props, you got some pipes on ya. You got my vote. Your coming to Memphis, dude!!!! Welcome to Memphis, Chris!!!!
All joking aside, Chris, if you just so happen to read this, I remember your journey, and I thought you had the proverbial triple threat from the 1st time I ever watched you perform on Idol. I stopped watching Idol after you were gone because you were my idol, and none of the other contestants left even mattered to me. Chris, your album is the best thing I have heard in years. I bought it the day it came out and it has not left my cd player. It was very much well worth the wait. If I never get to meet you in person, I would just like to go on the record as saying, I wish you many years of happiness and success. Besides Rob Thomas, you ARE the best thing that has happened to the music industry in a long, long time.
I haven't been to MIM in 20yrs. But this is all my soon to be 16yr old wanted for her birthday she turner down a car for daughtry tickets. And it doesnt hurt he's so darn sexy

thanks so much!!!
dena
I would love to see you and meet you, but I read a review that broke my heart. The little 2 year old that has cancer........His parents deserve this more than anyone. I almost lost my 3 year old when he was 6 weeks old and I know anything to get your mind off the bad is good. Even if it is just for a little while.

I would love to see you and meet you, but I read a review that broke my heart. The little 2 year old that has cancer........His parents deserve this more than anyone. I almost lost my 3 year old when he was 6 weeks old and I know anything to get your mind off the bad is good. Even if it is just for a little while.
anyone know???
does anyone know if daughtry will be signing autographs at this show or anytime around it? if so, please let me know. thanks!!
