Well, the day has finally came and went. And I must say, it was worth the wait. Everything about the bands was great. The two opening acts were petty good. And Chris and the Band, what can I say. They ROCKED the house. It was amazing to see Chris live. I wish I would have had a better place to watch from, but I made the best of it. I was standing on my tippy toes, holding the camera up (with dying batteries to boot), looking up to see if I could make out anything that remotely looked like Chris, and taking the pic. It was like a Shot in the Dark, as Ozzy would say. I was pleasantly surprised to say I got a few good pics. Only problem now is finding the cord for the camera to upload to the puter (where in the heck did it go!?!?!) I was, however, dissapointed with a few of the fans though. It's a shame since we were all there for the same thing, to have a good time and watch the bands. As we were leaving, I was walking beside a boy and his older sister. They looked to be about 8 and 13. They were getting squashed. I tried to protect the little boy from getting run over, only to get excuses from those behind me of "well they're pushing me". We got pushed around some more and I lost track of the two of them. I hope they got out safely. I was also dissapointed with some of the overall rudeness of some of the fans. But that's what happens when you put that many personalities in one small venue (and dang, it was smaller than I thought!). And, of course to be honest, I would have loved something to park my arse on (hey, I'm not getting any younger and standing that long takes a toll on ya!).
Otherwise, it was a perfect evening. It was everything and more that I hoped for! I can't wait for them to come back. I was just in aww of how great it was, and just the fact that I was in the same room with Chris and the Band.
Thanks guys for coming to the 'burgh. I hope you come back soon. Be safe and have fun out on the road! Oh, and to Chris.
P.S. to Chris.........I hope you find this as humorous (and as a compliment) as I did. I was standing there and I looked around (I was upstairs) at the other people. EVERYWHERE I looked, there was a guy with his head shaved. I just couldn't believe it. You couldn't look anywhere without seeing a bald head! I'm tellin ya, there had to have been 20 to 30 upstairs. I laughed my arse off for a minute! You started a fashion fad and didn't even know it! Who's to say how many were down stairs.
