Why I am a fan

I am a fan (and you should be too), because...

The sun is just about to set ushering in the night sky over downtown West Palm Beach. Hues of purple. gold, orange and pink peek out behind the office building next to the stage at Sunfest. I'd been standing for about five hours. General admission tickets = determination to be at the front of the stage when Daughtry commands it. As opening acts perform, me and other dedicated fans strain to see through the blue tarp covering the bottom of the stage as we manage to catch a glimpse of the Beautiful Bald One.
As the sun finally sets, Chris takes the stage, the lights reflecting off his silver aviators. It's the moment I'd been waiting for since he walked out of those doors with a "golden ticket" to Hollywood.
I turn back for just a minute to take in the sea of fans that snake back down Flagler Drive. It's at that moment, I realize that everyone else has just witnessed what I had known for more than a year: Chris Daughtry can bring down the house!
I sang along with every word of every song. I looked around and saw fans who were rocking out but weren't as familar with some of his songs as I was. I knew the next time I saw him EVERYONE would know the words.
The first time I saw him live was on the American Idol tour and he had every one of 21,000 concert goers up and rocking out to his songs. He has a passion for music that is unparalled with most performers today. People can relate to Daughtry's song lyrics. And the connection people feel to a song that speaks to them is a connection that lasts forever...and a band that will live on forever.
