This was one of the biggest highlights of my life!
I won tickets for this concert on the radio. We stood in line starting at 6pm, like everyone else. Cinder Road was amazing. Very talented group. Great performance. Daughtry was well worth the wait. We were right in front of the stage. The Bottleneck Blues Bar is a great venue. I love the small places. The concert was the best. Today I found out they will be playing at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, IL, so I'm reliving my St. Charles experience.
If you get a chance to see Daughtry live, please don't miss out. It is PRICELESS.
VIP Entry/LUVED IN ST LOUIS!!!
Saw the concert...rocked. Met Cinder Road and got great pics w/them.
Best of all met the sexiest coolest man ever...Chris himself!
Thanks for autograghs and pics after the show in the casino.
I WAS LEFT BREATHLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LUV U, LUV U, LUV U
Getting those pics was well worth the 12 hour wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOT IN ST LOUIS!!!!
These guys are the coolest. Chris please dont ever get too "Hollywood" on us.
Thanks for taking time out at the casino to sign my shirt, my poster, and even
posed for a pic with me and my friend. Thank you so much for that. I know it
probably gets annoying but that is something that I will remember the rest of
my life. Stay as cool as you are. Love the small venues . Daughtry and Cinder road
are the coolest guys ever.
St. Louis Review
I wanted Chris and his fans to read a positive review of the concert in St. Louis so I am adding my two cents. The concert was AWESOME!!! Chris gave his "all" as he always does. He did an acoustic version of "Rocket Man" that was "out of this world". It was fun and exciting watching him and the band perform all of our favorites from the CD. One of the girls I was with at the concert, Jewlel, brought Chris flowers. She was nice enough to share with Heather and me and we snaked our way through the crowd to get close enough to hand the flowers up to Chris. He winked at us and took the flowers and touched our hands. Some of the fans who were at the front were kicking and pinching to let us know they didn't like us moving in on their turf. We were only there long enough to give the flowers and then went back to our seats. Even though Chris had to go to Las Vegas after performing the night before, for whatever reason, and basically flew into St. Louis and stepped onto the stage - He delivered. I know he probably heard a lot of complaints about the late show, etc. I think if the venue was a little more accomodating to the fans, it would have helped. Some of us waited in line starting at 4:00 pm knowing we would not be allowed into the venue until 8:00 pm. They didn't start letting people in till almost 8:30. None of this was Chris's fault. Everyone who could be notified, was told the concert start time had been changed to 10:00 pm. I think he does everything humanly possible to give his fans what they want. Remember he is just a man. He has limits. I hate hearling about fans complaining that he didn't do this or that especially when he was sick and he said people were yelling terrible things to him on the bus. That is just too sad. We were lucky. Not only did we get to see a great show, we also got to meet Chris and have our pictures taken with him. We were waiting by the bus hoping to meet him and got a tip that he was inside the casino. It was so strange walking up to him and seeing him face to face. We were so in shock that we actually got to meet him! He was nice enough to take a picture with about a dozen or so people that had found him there. Even though I was one of them that "just had to meet him" and get a picture, I couldn't help but feel bad for him that he couldn't just relax after a rough couple of days. I know that it's part of the price of fame and I know that Chris knows it too. I am worried for his well being that he is trying to do too much and please too many people. I know his real fans understand and will give him the consideration he deserves.
Chris, I just want you to know that I really love your music. I think you are a great person and a gifted artist. I love that you stand for family, and God, and for your music. Thank you for all that you have given to us. And thanks for a great show, here, in St. Louis!
Saw Chris Last Night
Just wanted to say that I thought the concert last night in St. Charles was awesome. Didn't mind the wait at all. Got to meet some really nice people. Thought that the concert was awesome and well worth the wait. We were right up front. I even got one of his guitar pics. I was just excited to have the opportunity to see them live an up close. It was a lot of fun.
Sorry to hear that some people were disappointed and frustrated with the wait. I know that I would not want to keep his schedule!! I do not know how they can keep going. Hopefully, they will get some free time soon. It sounds like Chris has not had much of a break since Idol. As much as his fans want to see him, I hope he gets to spend some quality time with his family and can get some rest.
Final thought...Thanks Daughtry for the awesome concert!!!!
Debbie
Also known as "Mom" from the younger girls I met in line.
Still a HUGE fan!
I, like others on this site, was truly disappointed with the show last night. The whole seating/general admission things was a drag! According to the tickets, everyone had "reserved seats", whether you were in Tier 1 or 2. Not the case...
Also, the guys were REALLy draggin'. Dont know if it was illness, jetlag, or just burn-out from too many tour dates too close together..... Chris has an amazing voice, but had great difficulty hitting most of the big notes. As everyone else has already stated, the opening act, Cinder Road, played longer than Daughtry. More material would have been appreciated after all we went thru to be there.
I was lucky to get tickets....I know many fans that were totally bummed that they did not get to see the show, and I'm very appreciative that I did. I would do it all again.
I would just like to say to the guys, you learn a lot on the first tour. Get some rest....take care of yourselves......dont book your shows to close back-to-back.
I think the Pagent in University City would have been a much better venue for Daughtry to play!!! Cant wait for the next cd!!
stillsmilin10
Not what I expected.....
The show didn't start until 11pm and it was over at 11:45pm.
The tickets cost a dollar a minute based on that.
They didn't even sing my favorite song of theirs, "All these lives".
What a great venue to see a show though! We were so close to the stage.
Maybe Chris wasn't feeling good but he wasn't very talkative, the show seemed rushed.
Review Amendment
After re-reading my review, I realized that I sounded way too negative so I am amending it! I did pay a lot of money for those tickets but even if I had gotten to see them for only one minute that close, it would have been totally worth it. I am in awe of them, and I honestly would have paid to see them sing only one song, I guess how ever long they played would never have been enough! What can I say, I was on like 2 hours of sleep and a tad bit hungover when I wrote the first time so forgive me fellow fans and band members- you guys totally rock and there is NO ONE better!! And NO ONE I'd rather wait for and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!
Still love Daughtry...but
Althought Daughtry was great, I was somewhat disappointed to learn that after getting in line at 6pm, the show wasn't going to start till 10pm. Our tickets clearly stated 7:30pm. After finally getting in to the bar, the whole seating thing was a complete mess. I had heard that he was double booked that is why he was late..hope someone can clear that one up for me. I think what really was upsetting was that after waiting over 3 hours for them they only played 40 minutes. I understand that they were tired but I paid alot of money for these tickets and 40 minutes just seemed a little short. Overall Daughtry was good the short time they were on stage, just wish they would of played a little longer...Definitely still a fan, just a little disappointed...

The show was sooooooooo amazing. The guys did an excellent job. I cannot wait to have the opportunity to see them again. If you haven't seen Daughtry live, do whatever you have to, to get tickets. This is definitely a show worth repeating!!!! Thanks for a great time Chris, Brian, Josh, and Joey!!!!

Daughtry in Missouri
won tickets to concert, it was delayed for over 3 hours but was more than worth the wait. Daughtry was awesome and even hotter in person!
AFTER THE SHOW
AFTER THE SHOW, CHRIS WENT TO THE CASINO AND PLAYED ROULETTE, HE SAT BY A GIRL I MET LAST NIGHT. VERY PERSONABLE AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES ME FEEL A LITTLE BIT BETTER ABOUT HIM.
St Charles... rocked....
Well let's see, I got in line around 3 in the afternoon for the concert, met some awesome fans, shout out to Rob, his mom and wife, since they didn't let anyone in the bar until close to 8:30, by this time everyone knew that the Daughtry was coming from Las Vegas/Chicago and was still in air during all of this....
The long wait was well worth it though I was on rail on the right side(if you were looking a the stage)... Cinder Road took the stage around 9 to 9:30 and did an accoustic set(somewhat) it was awesome they really stepped in and took care of business since Daughtry was running late and they weren't original slated to perform last night... kudos to them....
Then around 11 the lights dimmed and low and behold they stepped out on the stage... the roar of the crowd was deafing.... They started with Crashed(of course) I thought I was going to pass out my heart was beating so fast....
Chris appologized for the wait and told us to bear with them as they were all a little jet lagged.... hah... They still rocked, I don't think anything could have made them performed bad.... the hefty price I paid for my ticket was well worth it and I would do it again if I had the chance...
I couldn't tell Chris was/is or had been sick at all... there was alot of what looked like cholriseptic(SP?) shots and water being taken in by him... in the end it was just awesome and rocked....
Chris let the boys have a break, all except Joey, and did Rocket Man I think for me it was almost the highlight of the show, that song really show cases his talent and that voice...
Daughtry in a nut shell was just awesome... they truly are on thier way to greatness... their live show just rocks....
they closed the show with there and back again... my favorite song... it freakin' great... Chris jumped off the stage and in the little isle between the rail and stage and gave us all a chance to touch greatness (sorry I had to say it... hee hee)
I didn't get a chance to stay after the show was over so I don't if the guys made an appearance afterwards.... if anyone stayed and reads this can you post please.. I am just curious....
Love you all!!!!!! Keep on a Rockin' to the boys..

I am a fan (and you should be too), because...
Obviously, Chris has been gifted with a great musical talent. But I must say, as one of the older fans, 53 years old. I was drawn to Chris because of his values. He is a breath of fresh air. What a joy it is to see a young man with his priorities straight. His hard work and dedication are quite apparent. I admire that he openly shares his devotion to his wife and children and that he is not ashamed to share where his faith comes from, God and His Word. What an example Chris can be with the platform he has been provided. I will continue to pray that Chris stays true to his beliefs and that he and his family will reap the rewards for a long time. I would love to meet him and personally share those thoughts with him.
Chris - stay true, stay strong. Bless You
Debbie
