I couldn't have repeated the story any better than jenfreels,
except i was standing in line with my back to the bus when Chris came out. I didn't get a pic that time but he gave me a few more chances, thanks Chris (my friends are sooooooooo jealous). I would like to add that one of the security guards was the one beating on the tour bus, i watched him walk by the bus with his fist taping from the front to the end....how stupid, he should know better. Anyway, Chris if you read this, we have more respect for you guys than that. For those of you who waited in line with us for four hours, thanks for being so nice and making time go by fast. It was well worth it to be right up front!

Oh and for the people who were gripping about Daughtry, i had my pic made with Josh and he was very happy to do so. Thanks again Josh!! I'm sure Chris would have too under different circumstances. I can't count the times that all the band members walked by talking to us and handing out things!! THANKS!!

Chris your singing was better than i imagined!! Looking forward to seeing you again.

I also thought Days of Fire and CinderRoad rocked the house!!

My sister, my best friend and I arrived around 4 or so. There were maybe 30 or so in line. We went into Newby's to eat and before we could get a bite who opens the door and comes out. The members of Daughtry and YES Chris!! I could not believe the bus was parked right on the street!!! My sister and I have been Chris fans from the very beginning and this was something we have looked forward to all year. We got in line and we were five feet maybe from the bus. Awesome!! When the guys came back out of the concert hall after sound check, they walked right by us to the bus. Chris looked at me, I said you look great Chris, he looked me right in the eyes, said thanks and patted me on the shoulder. He shook the hand of the lady behind me. Later, when Josh came by, I asked him to sign my CD and he did so very graciously, even asking me where I wanted the autograph!

A candlelight vigil was held for the VA Tech students, that was really nice, then we headed in. We all three ended up right up front on the rail. For those of you who have never been to Newby's, it is just a large hall with a rail in front of the stage. If you are on the front row like we were you are two maybe three feet away from the performers. It was incredible!! We were blown away (sorry lol) by the two opening bands, Days of Fire and Cinder Road. Very very good performances, then out comes Daughtry.

At one point, Chris looked over at us and grinned then walked to the edge of the stage to lean out and touch my sister's hand (she was waving at him). I felt so bad that Chris was sick but he rocked like a trouper and the rest of the band did an excellent job. Chris, even with a sore throat you are one of the best i have ever heard. One of my favorite parts was when Chris sang "Rocket Man" and "Black". He was onstage with only drums as backup and he played guitar. It was very lowkey and you could really hear his beautiful voice! Then the rest of Daughtry came back and rocked some more before going off the stage. We stomped and yelled till they came back and played two more!! After that Chris jumped off stage and ran down the front touching everyone's hands again.

We hung around a bit and met Cinder Road, then went out to the bus. After only a few minutes, the guys came out, waved and got in a van to go the airport. All along the entire day, they were all polite, gracious and seemed genuinely glad to be in Memphis. Yes it would have been nice to get Chris's autograph and get pics but I was so happy just to be able to say hi and to find out that Chris and all the guys are just as sweet and down home as they appear to be. I was in no way, shape or form disappointed. Just the opposite I was thrilled. These guys have really been pushing to do these shows so close together and all over the U.S. and anyone who acts like an ass because they don't stop and give you personal attention is selfish. They gave us a great show at the very least and stopped to say hi and smile and wave, that is awesome of them.

When I got home that night, I was worn out. I know I am 41 but still!!! lol and Daughtry (and the other bands) had to jump on a plane, fly to Vegas and do it all over the very next night. I could not imagine how I would do it if I had to go back the next night! I am in awe of what you do and the commitment and sacrifice you guys and all your families make so that we can have a good time...I can tell you love what you do and I could also tell you love your fans. Thank you for that.

One other side note: at one time, the security guys came over and stood by the bus saying someone had been beating on it. I stood beside the bus the entire time I was in line, from like 4:30 till 8:15 and I saw no one do that. On the contrary, all of the people in line were very well behaved, I was trying to get them to be louder! LOL

Thanks again for a wonderful time, Chris and all of Daughtry, I hope you feel better fast and we look forward to seeing you again soon!!

Also I know that your mind games will not drag me into your world( i would say freak show) I almost would have to say if you want to meet daughtry or if you have some fascination with celebrities then i would find something that your good at, become famous and wake up every morning and look in the mirror so then you could see all the famous stuff you wanted to see, hell you could even send yourself a gift and then go wait out side whatever venue you were at to see if you could meet yourself, really grow up do something with your life other than stalk a rock star and be upset because you didnt get your picture taken with him.

Daughtry was AMAZING!!!!!!! I had a great time as well as everyone else there! I also waited outside to maybe get an autograph, but it didn't happen. He had to catch a plane. That's okay! Completely understand. If you missed the plane, you would be late for your next concert and have some very upset fans. Did get to catch a look at him, tho. I was just as happy with that. And he waved at all of us. Keep up the good work guys! I will see you at the Beale Street Music Festival! Looking forward to it! Thanks again for the amazing performance!!

Even though Chris was still fighting a cold, they rocked it out! What a great time I had! The opening band (Cinder Road) was great, too. Looking forward to seeing you again at the Beale St. music Festival!

A note to Chris: My husband of 13 years is a navy pilot and is gone for months at a time. Please tell you wife and kids to hang in there, you'll be "Home" soon

Chris you and the guys were so great!!! I couldn't even tell you were sick, you sounded great! Thanks for still doing the show! It was so fun for me to see how much fun you all are having on stage! I wanted to cry when you sang Home, I just wanted to send you on a plane back to your family. Smiling That is one of the MANY things I love about you, you are very committed to your family. You don't see that enough! Thanks for everything and I can't wait to see you at Musicfest in 2 weeks!!!!! ~~~~You guys are AWESOME~~~~

It is like this.....we are lucky at this point in his career that Daughtry even tries to come out to meet their fans. I have been to a couple of shows now...and I have gotten a chance to meet them and I have not gotten a chance to meet them. It is luck of the draw. As a true fan that is the risk that you are willing to take. If you truly love the band's music and value them as artists then---you are there to see their performance...the music is what it's all about. Everything else is icing on the cake!

We all want that autograph and that pic to capture the moment we got to meet our "star"....but that isn’t what drives us to go to a concert. Bottom line is this....was the show amazing? Was their performance worth the money you paid to get in? I know the answer to that question and I was not even there....because I know the band puts their heart and soul in to EVERY performance. That is their way of giving back to those that are supporting them....and that’s why we love them! I mean do you realize that they have been doing show after show after show? They have been away from their friends and family for months… My advice to you is this….if you did not get what you wanted this show…go to another show…and another….and another…as many as it takes to get that pic or autograph.

Tell you what…...go to another artist's concert. You probably will not even get a glance of that artist let alone get an autograph or picture. Case and point....I took my daughter to an Evanescence concert the day after the Louisville Headliners show.....you could not even take a f--ing camera in to the venue! There was no "meet and greet"...no pics with their fans...Hell...Amy Lee wouldn’t even wave to the fans when she was watching the other bands perform. But she rocked out….and put on one hell of a performance! None the less -- that is an example of a "jaded" artist. You know where that starts....with fans like you! Fans that expect too much from an artist and would rather criticize the small, insignificant things that may go wrong…

In America you have the right to post whatever you want….I love free speech! It is one of the fundamental things that separates us from other countries. But remember….others have free speech too…so expect to take the heat/criticism when others do not agree with the things you say!

Daughtry RAWKED the house!! Cinder Road was awesome! It's been a long time since I've been to a rock show and this one was better than any I've seen in the past. I can't wait until they return in May!

Thanks, guys, for a great show!

I completely agree about this "false expectations" blog posted on every page. It's time to move on, what exactly are u trying to do by posting this ridiculously long, drawn out story about u not getting to meet Chris...GET OVER IT. DO u honestly think he can meet all of his fans? I'm sure he wishes he could but he is one person and there are millions of us that would die to meet him. So please stop wasting space and reposting the same crap over and over. Seriously.

Ok so you love Chris that's wonderful. It doesn't mean you have to post your story on every page. I mean honestly...give it up already. You posted it once and thats all you needed to do. Enough is enough! No one wants to read your story over and over again. Sorry you had a bad experience...let it go already.

Please stop posting this very negative post. If I were Chris I WOULD NOT WANT to meet you now. You are obviously not a true fan and to be honest, we do not want your kind on here. Sorry to be so rude but it needed to be said. Go somewhere else with your negativity. Only those who truly love Chris are welcome here. :/

I moved to Memphis a year ago from Seattle. What great timing, as I see Daughtry is not touring anywhere on the west coast! I am so excited for the concert tonight. I just love your music.

I have never been the type to just be CRAZY about an artist...until now. The minute I saw Chris' devotion to his wife and family I fell in love. I cried with Chris as he sang THE MOST BEAUTIFUL heartfelt National Anthem I have or will ever hear in my lifetime. If any one single person deserves to be a star, Chris does. He is a GENUINE person with a GENUINE gift. Please give me a chance to dance my ass off and Jam with him in Memphis. I graduate from college Thursday, and this would be the most awesome graduation present I could ever dream of.
A Chris fan forever!

VIP

I would like to say that a VIP would be bad ass, but I am just happy that I was able to get tickets. I purchased my tickets off of ebay due to the fast sell out at newby's. I can say that your music relates to my life so much(i am sure a ton of people as well). Think it would be great because your music influences me as an aspiring song writer. Either way I am sure there are people more deserving then me, but I will enjoy the show to the fullest. God Bless all your families and friends.

This world history teacher would love to be considered for the Meet and Greet! My friend and I bought tickets online from a vendor after they were sold out in seconds from Newby's, but as of today, they have not yet arrived! Hope to see everyone there!

I'd love for Chris to meet one of his "Older" fans to show him how his music touches all ages.

Where do I start. My friend and I got there around 4pm and there were not that many people in line. We met alot of cool people and even got our pics taken with some of the band. Even though our feet were killing us by the end of the night, we totally forgot when my friend touched Chris and I got one of the guitar picks he was playing with. Oh by the way Day of Fire and Cinder Road totally rocks. I would say it was an experience of a lifetime.

I started following Chris on AI. He is the best they have ever had and will ever have on the show. When I saw the video clip of his wife crying and saying how much he deserved the chance after all he had done for her and her children and after hearing how amazing of a singer he is, I did not dare miss a week of watching AI and voting for him over and over and over. I suffered a severe neck injury that year and actually lost my job of 10 years at Sony Music while out on medical leave. Watching Chris gave me something to look forward to every week as I endured surgery after surgery. When he left American Idol, I went on line and ordered his ABSENT ELEMENT CD, a coffee mug with him on it, and a Tshirt and mouse pad that say "I LOVE CHRIS DAUGHTRY". My husband didn't know what to do with me because I would just watch the AI episodes over and over again we recorded to hear him, especially "I WALK THE LINE."

We saw Chris in Nashville at Exit Inn April 5 and stood in line outside in freezing weather for 2 hours to get in up front. The couple we were there with hung around after the show until 3 am with CINDER ROAD and EVE TO ADAM and got to meet Chris and have their picture taken with him. When I found out about this, I was devastated. Because of my neck injury and the fact that I had stood for almost 7 hours already (in line and at the concert), I was hurting and had to go home.

I would love the opportunity to see Chris in Memphis and just be able to tell him what an inspiration his music is and has been to me. I listened to his ABSENT ELEMENT and DAUGHTRY CD in physical therapy recovering from the injury and now in the gym.

I worked in the music industry for 10 years and never got excited about anyone that I got the chance to meet, but meeting Chris would be a lifetime dream come true not only for me, but for my husband as well, who is also a dedicated fan.

Is there anyway to get 2 tickets to the show in Memphis and have the chance for a "MEET AND GREET WITH HIM"?

Smiling

I want to hear yall again verry bad! This would be a drive but ill take it in a heartbeat!
