I am a fan (and you should be too), because...Daughtry just may be the greatest rock band to debut in a long time and they are setting all kinds of records on all the charts. To have your debut CD go platinum is quite a fete. The music is just good ole' rock & roll with the J's & Brian jamming on the guitars, Joey tearing it up on the drums and Chris with his powerful set of pipes. Anything you give him is going to sound good with that voice and is going to rank him up there with Elvis or Steve Perry w/ Journey - Masters themselves. It's been a long time since I've been excited about any singer or songwriter, but Daughtry has changed that. My coworker brought the CD to work one morning and we've been hooked every since. One of the things that really impressed me was that Chris gives thanks to God for his GIFT and Jesus Christ for his example of LOVE. What a great influence for his fans! We got to go to the concert in Lubbock (the last 3 tix in West Texas) and saw the contest to win tix to Tabernacle in ALT and entered. We couldn't believe it, but we won. We got airlines tix and flew in on Sat afternoon, met some great friends while waiting in line, went to the concert, and flew out Sun morn. The concert was even better than Lubbock, if that is possible, but the morning after was even better. We had slept in the airport because we had an early flight and to our surprise Daughtry was standing in line in front of us waiting to go through security. We had on our Daughtry shirts and hoodies and they noticed us and were smiling. We didn't want to draw attention to them so believe it or not we stayed cool. Chris flashed us that gorgeous smile and I reached out and he shook my hand and he said "Nice to meet you" We didn't need a plane to fly home after that! I still get butterflies when I think of shaking Chris' hand. We were lucky and got to see them 2 more times in Dallas in August and November and each concert was better that the one before. Dallas with Bon Jovi is going to be a concert to remember. It is so great that they will be opening for Bon Jovi because when the cd came out and went platinum it was compared to Bon Jovi's debut album. I can't wait for the next cd. I plan on following Daughtry for a long, long time.
