Why I Am a Fan!

I am a fan (and you should be too), because...

Chris Daughtry has been one of the most inspirational American Idol contestants in the history of the show. His dedication to his wife and family made him an extremely likable person before he even began to open his mouth and let us hear his amazing voice. He is a genuine person with a big heart and an awesome personality. It was clear from the first time we saw him in the audition room that he was a person who was going to make it far in the competition, and definitely had a chance of winning the whole thing.

Throughout the show, he would always strive to do his absolute best and worked hard to make an improvement in himself week after week in order to persevere in impressing all three of the judges. He even sang while laying down on the floor during a practice session in order to achieve the sound he was looking for. The night that he was up against Katherine McPhee to go home, it was clear to everyone (including Katherine, which was obvious by the look on her face when the results were announced) that it should have been her time to go, not Chris's. This seemed like bad news at the time, but it turned out to be the best possible thing that could have happened. Chris ended up being able to make the kind of music he dreamed of making instead of having to follow what the American Idol producers would have set forth in front of him had he won the competition.

The show also created a fan-base for Chris that could not be beat and it carried through to the release of the album, which broke records. With many song lyrics that hit close to home, so many different types of people have become fans of this amazing man and band. It has become quite clear that Chris is an incredibly talented singer who has coupled himself with a wonderful band to back him up. The future for Daughtry is enormous and holds fantastic things to come. The possibilities seem endless for Chris and the band, and the fans (including myself) will be there every step of the way. He may not have won the competition, but he is certainly an Idol.
