I am a fan (and you should be too), because...I fell in love with Chris when I saw his audition on Idol. I was in awe of him as a person before I ever heard his voice. The story Deanna told of him supporting her and her children as his own was amazing. You just don't find many guys out there today who will do that without a second's hesitation, but Chris says it just felt like it was what was meant to happen. WOW!
I love his voice, I love the band's music...these guys work SOOO well together, the lyrics to the songs speak directly to so many people...I can, personally, relate to every song on the album. When I watch the band perform the songs, I am able to actually see the passion they have for this music and I feel the emotion put into every song, everytime! There is no mistaking that these guys are living their dream! I have never been into band as much as I am with this band!
I was driving down the road listening to the radio one morning and heard "It's Not Over" playing and when I realized it wasn't my cd, that the song was actually playing on the radio, you would have thought it was MY song playing. I began screaming and called my best friend and my husband to let them know that Daughtry was on! I was sooo excited! This cd stays in my cd player; I listen to it over and over; it just never gets old! No matter what my mood, there is always a song to fit and by the end of the cd, I am singing along at the top of my lungs. It's almost therapeutic.
In my house, Daughtry is a family affair. My husband listens to the music throughout the day while he works and I laugh at him because for about 6 months, he tried to fight the fact that he likes the music as much as I do. I pick on him all the time because, now, everytime I walk in his office, the cd is playing. My son is just as obsessed as I am...and not ashamed one bit! He is 5 and has his own cd, which he listens to morning and night. It is the 1st thing he wants to hear when we get in the car and the 1st thing he wants to put on when he gets in his room once home. He rocks out to every song and knows EVERY word! He got a guitar for Christmas and sits around trying to play it to the songs. It amazes family and friends when they are around him. These guys are his idols! I would venture to say he is the #2 fan of all times. I want so badly to take him to a concert and make his dream come true...he wants to meet all of the guys and sing with them.
Daughtry is a band that every generation is listening to. The music is THAT good! They are rock and roll, but with a positve message to share. The songs they sing talk about values, sacrifices, and family experiences. These guys have come a long way and their career is just getting started...they are going to be around for a while! I could easily see them becoming the next Bon Jovi, the band I think has earned so much respect and stayed alive throughout so many changes in the music world because of their ability to create music that everyone can relate to and remaining grounded as a band. Those guys seem sooo down to earth and I see a lot of that in the members of Daughtry when reading about them and their families.
You guys ROCK!!! Congrats on becoming the best thing the music industry has seen in a long time!
