I am a fan (and you should be too), because...EVERYONE can relate to Chris' journey to this point in his life. He was living a "REAL" life just a few short months ago, just like the rest of us. He is a father, and a husband, a son, a brother, an employee, and as those of us in the south like to say, "a good 'ol boy"! He had a dream, and tried to pursue it the best he could while living life, raising kids, working every day and so on. I am so proud of Chris for taking that step to try out for American Idol, it was the last (and first) step in getting him where he needed to be to reach out for his dream. Even more importantly, the fans can SEE and FEEL and HEAR the support of his wife and family in every word of every song, every interview, every TV appearance. I know it is hard on them, and when I saw his wife sobbing on A.I. when Chris was auditioning, I knew it was the hardest thing she had ever done, but also the easiest because she loves him so much. I LOVE Daughtry's music, and if I did not know any of Chris' story, I would love it still. But because I DO know, it makes the music that much more heartfelt, sincere, and just plain awesome! Just listening to the music gives me the sense that I should follow my dreams, too, and I just might have a chance of living them.
