I am a fan (and you should be too), because DAUGHTRY has brought something back to the music industry that has been missing for some time. Chris' intensity as a front man makes his concerts entertaining. His passion for his music is only overshadowed by his passion for his family. I wrote this a while back - but it still applies.

Can you remember how it started?
Singing “Achy Breaky Heart” at that family picnic?
Was that performance as intense as your current ones?
I bet that was fun and light hearted.

Now fast forward about 10 years.
Your wife, God Bless her,
Convinced you to try out for Idol
To follow you dreams and concur your fears.

While you did not seem nervous, you did seem shy.
You sang “The Letter” to get your foot in the door.
Impressed the judges, well two out of three,
But more importantly the fans – “That’s our GUY!”

You sang to us week after week.
We voted and voted, just not enough
We thought you were safe, boy we were wrong.
Now that you were gone, the weeks looked so bleak.

No Chris Daughtry to sing to us again
Fourth place finishers never go far
Or so we were told by one and all
Release a CD and we’d find it in the $5.99 bin.

That look of shock and dismay
Made several fans cry
Other just got mad and said
YOU WILL HAVE YOUR DAY!

Though many thought we were disbanded,
We couldn’t dial a phone, too lazy you see
Little did the world know that we worked on our own
Spreading your music to those we could hand it.

Your CD has been done
And now we have more music to share
You did not disappoint us in the least
In fact, you had fun.

So kiss that wonderful wife you hold dear

We love her much
