I am a fan not only because of Daughtry’s phenomenal music, lyrics, sound, show, stage presence, and overall & individual personalities.

But because with the first note, the first chord, the first word, or the first glimpse, my breath catches in my chest, my heart beats a little faster and I get that tingly, anxious, anticipatory, adrenalized, almost shaky, amazing, euphoric feeling.

You know the one.
Like when you’re in high school
and your crush walks in the room,
or the click – click – click part of the rollercoaster,
or the first real day of spring,
or Christmas morning,
or when you're waiting for the doorbell to ring on the first date,
or the feeling you get right before the first kiss,
or…

when the lights dim before the show.
