I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...Daughtry is the most AMAZING band I have ever seen in concert. They came to MN mid-March and my husband and I were fortunate enough to attend. They have so much energy and heart, and I just couldn't take my eyes off of them. Their voices are amazing, and I love it when they do the guitar runs. They are also a band that I feel comfortable allowing my 3-year-old and 5-year-old listen to- in fact, they like to sing a along.
On a separate note, I saw Chris for the first time on TV at the Idol auditions. At the time I was going through chemo, and I guess Idol was my way of escaping from reality for a couple of hours a week. Everything else in my life was so totally overwhelming and completely out of my control, but music was the one thing that could make me smile. The moment I heard Chris's voice, he was my favorite. I watched him go from auditions to the Idol stage, and I was totally in love with him (maybe not the correct way of putting it since I am married with 3 kids, but I am sure you all know what I mean). He puts all of his heart and soul into his singing, and no matter what he sang he was always amazing. When he left the show, in a way I did too. I missed seeing and hearing him each week, but I know it was in God's plan for him to move on to bigger and better things. So, if anyone looking at this is not a fan, you should be. Chris Daughtry (and his very talented bandmates) were not only able to make an amazing CD (and amazing performances at their concerts), but they also helped me to become a normal person again and enjoy something for a change. Music is something special that can make such a difference in the lives of others- it certainly did in mine.
