hee hee! I have to move my butt and get down those things swift like ninja! Jaylynn we must unite our ninja powers and get me to the front! I plan on sitting in line all day if it means getting to the front row. I need a friend or two that can hang out with me so we can leave the line for bathroom breaks, drink breaks, etc. Anyone plan on doing this?

I ha ven't heard of it getting ugly... they still take the tickets one at a time... so they don't have a ton of people rushing down the stairs to get to the track and get the best place in front of the stage. I'll have to see if I can find pictures that I took from the Nickelback concert there... see if they show the place off or not.

I don't know how early they allow lining up... but I know they do allow it. I know that I've had a hard time getting through the mob of people to get to the beer tent and help get it set up before they opened the gates.
It won't be just a straight one line either... There is I believe two sections that they allow people to line up at... and it is just a mob of people.

I have a question since you are familiar with the fair. Will they let us line up early, is there a spot to do so? I am sure hoping there is a line allowed at some point so I can secure a close spot!

I booked my hotel and have my ticket so I am ready to go! BRING IT ON!

So I'm thinking about 2.5 - 3hours, i don't remember how long it took last time i drove to Kalamazoo. I'm right there with you hoping not to get lost. Although at this point I'm not completely sure I'm gonna be able to drive all that way, have to see what happens with my car (it's on it's last legs:) )

which is about 20 minutes north of Detroit. I think to Allegan it will take me 3 hours. But it will all be worth it! I am just afraid of getting lost, haha!

I got my tickets too!! YEA!!! Again......listen to our warnings!!! Get there EARLY!!! I went there several years ago to see a concert and was stuck in traffic outside of the fairgrounds. I missed the entire opening act - who I wanted to see to begin with. I sat through the rest of the concert completely p.o.'d! So go and enjoy the whole day! Have some cotton candy, ride some rides - whatever....just don't be late!! It's gonna be SO MUCH FUN!! WAHOO!!

Whoever said that parking and traffic is horrendous... IS RIGHT. Seriously... if you weren't planning on getting there real early to stand in line... think twice about it. I've been in line for over an hour just to get to the parking area in the past! It's a bunch of one way streets in that area... and a bunch of houses whose owners charge you to park so you can get out of the car sooner and walk to the fair. Trust me... it is easier to park at those houses rather than inside the fairgrounds. LOL I think the most they usually charge is $5 for parking that I have noticed. Not sure about inside the fair, the only time I park in there is when I'm working the beer tents. LOL

If when you guys mapquest to get to Allegan... if any of your directions tell you to get off the highway (I94) and travel M40 to get to Allegan, DON'T LISTEN TO IT. There is major road construction going on in my town (Gobles) and you will have a detour through side country roads... we don't want anyone getting lost! If anyone is coming I-94 from the west side of the area.. you will likely be told to take M40. If you are good at following detour signs and aren't afraid of getting lost, it shouldn't be a big deal. LOL

I'm hoping that we will be able to get close, I've never been to a concert at a fair ground before, not sure what to expect.

When I went to see the band in Flint we stood outside in the parking lot forever. No one was even starting to line up yet. Someone had a little girl with them, probably about 5 or 6, and she went over to the tour bus. Chris stepped out to take a picture with her and you should've seen all of us tripping over each other to see him. He ended up taking the picture with the girl and then went back on his bus. Guess I don't blame him. We all probably looked a little crazy running @ him like that. Oh well, I have no shame when it comes to Chris!

I'm dusting off my old track shoes!
