I am a fan (and you should be too), because not only has Chris managed to rise above his premature departure from American Idol, he has done so with class and dignity. Proving that NOT winning AI wasn't a roadblock to success, he has assembled a stellar band and risen to heights above and beyond all critics expectations. And in the chaotic world of the music business, he has outshined, outperformed and outplayed the naysayers and proven to them he is the ULTIMATE SURVIVOR!

I am a 43 year old single mother of three teenagers (17, 15, 14) and each one of us LOVE everything about Chris and his music. We cheered Chris on together as a family, and they sometimes laughed at how their old momma was screaming, shouting and hollering for him each and every week like I had taken a step back in time to my head banging days!

I began rooting for Chris after seeing his audition and joined "THE DAUGHTRY GANG" aka "The Chris Crew " after I googled to find anything and everything about him. Thus began the journey of meeting those like myself who were drawn to this silent, charismatic performer who prowls the stage and commands your attention with his intense, heartstopping eyes!

When he was voted off, of course we grieved together, but we knew he would make it, never doubted it for a minute! During the show, I purchased a few CDs and t-shirts from Chris' former band, Absent Element, for all of us, so we could blast it loud and proud in the house and in the car as we were rollin' down the road. We couldn't get enough!

Now we rock out to the AWESOME sounds of DAUGHTRY together as always, supporting Chris' dream which is now his reality! I have purchased over 22 copies of the debut CD to gift to family and friends, and now my niece, who is a die hard punk fan has become one of their biggest fans, all because of her Auntie V's unflagging support of them!

The band collectively has raised the bar for those that will follow and I see a very bright future on the horizon, Can you say SOLD-OUT ARENAS?!!! Not many parents have the same musical tastes as their children, but DAUGHTRY defies all boundaries and blasts them to oblivion in mine! Not many artists can boast of such a feat either, and Daughtry proves they have influence over the masses, which is a tremendous coup for a new band.

I have never wavered in my support of Chris and his music and always knew he had that special something which eventually garnered him the nickname "RENEGADE ROCKSTAR" from me! He stays true to who he is without compromise and his band's debut record is solid proof he is here with them for the long haul! His warm, enigmatic smile coupled with powerful vocals sets him high above the rest, just as the awesome musicians that surround him smash the competitors with their dynamic, efficacious sound.

So, if you aren't a fan, take it from this ole Momma, you should be!
