I have not been to any of the Daughtry/Bon Jovi shows, and I do not have tickets to any of them.
I in no way am implying anything good or bad about Daughtry or Bon Jovi. I just wanted to reply to what you said about the opening band is usually the one to thank the headliner.
Yes, the opening band, most def needs to thank the headliner for letting them open for them.
However, I have been to A LOT of concerts, and the headliner also always thanks the opener and comments on how great of a band they are etc.
I don't know if Jon does or doesn't say anything about Daughtry. As I said, I have not been to any of the shows. I would sure hope that he does though.
The concerts I go to offen, the headliners always really go out of their way to give props to the openers and thank them for coming out on the road with them and "getting the crowd fired up" etc.
I know Bon Jovi is huge, but at the same time, to have a great band like Daughtry open for them, should be a huge honor so I sure hope they appreciate it enough to thank them and make it known at the shows.
