just got home...

took a little longer to get to the venue than normal. i don't live that far away, but traffic was just horrid tonight. got there about 7:10 and the tickets/meet & greet passes were at will call like i was told. got down to our seats (section 120 row ddd) about 3 rows up from the floor. the seats were good, but too far from the stage to get any good pictures. the new song is great by the way... it opened the show. i think the set was 8 songs... i'm not great with details especially since i was pretty stoked about the meet and greet. i saw the guys back in july with nickelback and staind... i can't decide which show i enjoyed more (aside from the fact i was 2nd row last time). they sounded amazing live like i knew they would. there are very few bands who sound just as good live as they do in recordings... Daughtry is definitely one of the few. We took off just after "breakdown" to head back up the what seemed like million stairs to get back up to the concourse to make our way to the main box office since the instructions said to be there right after the last song of the set.

we made our way to the box office and waited there through the last song. slowly others started to join us. another VIP winner from North Carolina, and a few others who seemed to know or be friends with the guy who was running the show. i think there ended up being a grand total of 11 people for the meet & greet. we stood around for 10-15 minutes and then finally made our way down the stairs and into the back hallways of the palace. we had to wait for bon jovi to make their way to the stage before we could go any further. while we were all out there standing in line, we were told not to lean or sit on the tables, only one thing could be autographed per person... oh yeah... and NO PICTURES. yep... you read that right. no pictures. so we finally made our way into the room where the guys were. the only way that i can possibly think to describe it is awkward. it was like a buffet line. they were all sitting there, kind of quietly. no hello's when we entered or anything. we all went down the line and as you put your item to be autographed, they all just passed it down. that was it... it was over. so to say that i was a little disappointed... well that's an understatement. the vip winner from omaha said that the guys give great hugs... well... none of us in detroit would know. it was over in a matter of 5 minutes. we all went through the line and back out the door. not a handshake, not a hug, no pictures. my hubby got all of the guys to sign our cd and i had Chris sign the custom photoshop 8x10 that i did.

we didn't even stay for bon jovi. i saw them back in '01 and my hubby isn't a fan. we only went for Daughtry.

hopefully people who had closer seats got some good pictures. even with my digital zoom none of mine turned out Sad
