Hello everyone. I figured I'd try to get better at this whole blogging thing. I am going to see Daughtry and Bon Jovi on Feb.26th at the United Center in Chicago. My wife got me the tickets as one of my Christmas presents. I Think, no offense to Bon Jovi, that the concert is going to be somewhat of a let down. This will be my 3rd time seeing Daughtry live and I'm used to seeing him headline. It's going to be weird seeing him perform and then leave and I've still got to sit there and watch the rest of the show. Don't get me wrong early Bon Jovi was great, but his last couple albums have not been the Bon Jovi I grew up with. It is fine when artists get older and need to reinvent themselves somehow or tone things down. Some artists pull it off well and others don't and in my opinion Bon Jovi hasn't. I will however, hold my final judgement until I see him live and see what kind of show he puts on. I just hope he plays more old stuff than new. I didn't like his Lost Highway Cd at all. What would be really cool is if he incorporated Daughtry in his set like when he does Dead Or Alive maybe? I'm picturing Bon Jovi starting the song and then Daughtry rising up out of the stage or walking down some steps to the stage playing his guitar. He would break into the 2nd part of the song and then they could both bring it home. That would be awesome and a highlight of the show. Wishful thinking probably. My last bit of news is that I want to use my look a like status to start a Daughtry tribute band. I don't know how long it will take or if I have the talent to pull it off, but I want to give it a shot. It's not going to be a complete cover band type thing. I definitely want to do Daughtry's stuff, but I also want to do some of the songs he's covered from American Idol and beyond. I love Suspicious Minds off the Viva Las Vegas Special soundtrack. I would also like to do maybe some Nickelback and maybe some other Daughtry type material. I can't play anything as far as instruments go, but I do want to learn. I want a real band to accompany me and help me. I don't want this to be karaoke. We'll see how it goes. I would love to hear from people and get some feedback. Adios for now.
