I am a fan (and you should be too), because Daughtry is the most exciting new ROCK band to debut in more than a decade. This is classic, hard-hitting, emotionally honest rock and roll, not that soft contemporary or "adult alternative" we've settled for through the last several years. Though most people were turned on to Daughtry through the voice and persona shown on American Idol, were there no American Idol this band would still be a success because they have pure talent, they respect each other, and they know how to treat their fans. They don't just perform the music; they feel the music, and it seeps out their pores and their instruments until you feel it too. There's not a song on the debut CD that I ever skip, and if you buy it and listen to it, I think you'll understand why.
