STICK WITH THE SMALLER VENUES..PLEASE!!

I know the band is experiencing a great deal of success rather quickly (much deserved i might add), including the gig w/ bon jovi..but i'm hoping that once that tour has ended that they will continue to play the small venues (ie. the theatres, clubs, etc.) atleast for a little while longer.. it's a completely different experience and so much more intimate, obviously..the time will come for DAUGHTRY to be headlining the big arena tours that will sell out w/no problem, i'm just hoping to be able to see the guys in the smaller setting a few more times..usually once artists are successful enough to headline the bigger venues they don't go back..am i being selfish? probably..let me know what you think Smiling

we haven't seen the end of Daughtry in smaller venues ...wishful thinking I suppose but I have a feeling these fairs are the smallest shows they will be doing from now on Sad

How great would it be if they started the tour for the new album out the same way w/ small venues??! YOU HEAR THAT RCA POSSE?????!

what you mean about the smaller venues. Even the videos being posted with the BJ tour dont have the same audio quality... and I know its the size of the stadium... but I do agree that even the attitudes of the performers are different in the smaller venues... everything is much more personal and just has that "down home" feel.

Smaller venues definately are better for us the fans and I am quite spoiled after seeing him twice in small venues, almost right up front!! But I do hope in the future that Daughtry will be headlining the big arenas. They deserve this more than anyone!! Maybe they can do both!!

to someday see Daughtry play in a huge sold out arena. I was at the Mardi Gras concert last year. 40,000 people there to see Daughtry. It was one of the most amazing concerts I have ever been too. I love that. Yes, being in the front row at a bar is nice, but being in a huge arena sold out for Daughtry is an amazing feeling. One of the things I always do is take a video of the crowd before the concert. I love seeing how many people come out to see Daughtry. It makes me happy. Smiling

i completely understand your excitement at having your own personal interaction with chris while he was onstage..he called my friend and i out from the stage at our last show in december and we're still giddy over it..thankfully someone captured it & posted it on youtube so now we have it forever too or until it's taken down , i suppose..

so happy for all the success daughtry continues to have Smiling

The smaller venues are BY FAR better than the huge stadium size. My best friend and I were lucky enough to be front row TWICE-close enough to touch him, shake his hand and get INCREDIBLE pictures both times!! We both agree that those were two of the best days of our lives - EVER! There is absolutely nothing like seeing your favorite performer of all time THAT CLOSE! The picture I have posted below is him 'loving me back'....I was screaming "I love you" with fingers in the 'i love you' wave and he responded....I was losing my mind as I looked in to his eyes - then my girlfriend showed me she 'captured the moment' and I couldn't stop screaming!!! You don't get that sort of thrill at the larger venues - don't get me wrong - seeing DAUGHTRY anywhere is a THRILL, but it's not nearly the same as being so close. Hopefully after they experience the huge venues touring with Bon Jovi, they will be anxious to get back to more intimate settings.

Love you too

Yeah-Carolyn & I both agreed that the Paradise was a once in a lifetime, granted it helped that we got in early so we could be front & center but still, we'll never be that close again.
It was amazing and I'm glad I got to experience it.

I also think the band puts on a better show when they headline.
Not that they weren't great at the Nickelback show but they really shine when they are the headliners.
Just my 2 cents!

I don't think I'll ever have front row again like I did at the Paradise in Boston - I could touch Chris!!!!! I love the smaller venues and seeing him with binoculars at the Bon Jovi concert is not going to be the same Sad (but i'll still LOVE it)!!!!!

ITA

I would love them to come play in Newport this summer for the Music Festival. Small venue, wonderful concert.

because the ticket prices are way out of hand.
I would rather wait until DAUGHTRY is in the area and the featured band.
I love the guys, but I just can't afford those prices... Sad

With DAUGHTRY as popular as they are, I'm worried about the guys not coming out after their shows! I've been them 3 times, but haven't gotten to meet them, yet. I hope the possibility will always be there. It seems the more popular the band/celebrity becomes, the less the fans see of this band/person, usually.
That would be a real shame if this happened with DAUGHTRY..................................Sad

In concert:
Clearwater, FL Oct. 8, 2007
Greenville, SC Dec. 16, 2007 - Merry Christmas to me!!!
Greensboro, NC Dec. 22, 2007 - Happy DAUGHTRY New Year!!!

D A U G H T R Y fans are ageless!

I knew the first time I saw Chris up close in a small club in Boston
that may be the last time!!! I knew he would make it big ,even back a
year ago he could have filled a bigger place!! It is also so rare that
he takes the time to meet and sign for fans- I have been to a ton of
concerts- and nobody does this!!! The past 2 years in Boston I
noticed a few big groups(Coldplay, velvet revolver, white stripes,
Fergie) played at the small clubs again- I think they
didn't want to have to worry about ticket sales and other issues
(concert sales are in an all time slump!!) Maybe this opportunity
will come up again-- but with this guys at their peak right now-
unfortunately I have to say fat chance- but also I won't give up!

be careful what you wish for, 'cause you just might get it....

the small venues are alot more intimate. SmilingSmiling Smiling Smiling

I attended the concert at the Reading PAC...it was awesome. Jawdropping!
There is no bad seat in the venue...like being in your own Living Room. ShockedShocked

Was in Total Awe of Chris and Daughtry:

Pittsburgh 7/27/06~ AI Tour
Pittsburgh 3/15/07~ Diesel Club Tour
Columbus 8/1/07 ~ Ohio State Fair (Missed~~was sick)
Pittsburgh 3/15/08~ Bon Jovi Tour CAN’T WAIT!!

with the smaller venues. December 8th was the first time I was at the PAC in Reading, PA and I must say the smaller venues are much nicer, more intimate definitely! Im totally going to see Daughtry March 2nd, I mean dont get me wrong Bon Jovi is ok, but my main reason for going is of course for Daughtry. They are absolutely amazing and it dont help that they all are completely gorgeous! Love these guys!

..i meant nothing against bon jovi..i've been a fan of theirs since the 80's like most of us

and i hear everyone about the crazy ticket prices for that tour but i guess we've gotta take our guys whatever way we can get 'em!!

amen

is it wrong of me that i didn't buy tix for bj/daughtry in philly because i want my money spent to be as worthwhile as possible? i don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a ticket and only see daughtry play for a half hour! i'd rather spend less, see them in a smaller venue, and hear more!

I'm looking forwad to the Daughtry/BJ concert. I'm also a huge fan of BJ and never got to see them in concert. But I do agree that I miss the smaller venues (more personal) and if Daughtry was touring with a group I didn't like it would be hard to spend the $$ to hear them play a few songs.

Our tickets for Daughtry/BJ was $102.25 each and I bought 4...and they are NOT amazing seats!

I'm just happy that they are performing near us, it could be worse....no concert at all Eye-wink

I totaly agree. It seems soo much more intimate. I hate to pay such an expensive amount of money for a ticket and only get to hear them sing like 4 songs and BJ is ok..dont get me wrong but i would much rather see Daughtry. I guess I could cross my fingers to maybe catch a glimpse of him after the show is over! Im hoping maybe after the release of the new CD they might tour and take it to small venues.

DAUGHTRY...my obsession

And I have enjoyed seeing Daughtry this way, knowing full well these shows were a gift. But I believe it's inevitable that they will be headlineing their own arena tour very soon. However, if Bon Jovi is any indication, then maybe there will be opportunities to see Daughtry in these smaller venues from time to time. Over the years BJ has played the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank many times...as well as the Hammerstein Ballroom & the Nokia in NYC, to name a few. And since Daughtry's success has so closely resembled that of Bon Jovi's, I'd say let's hope they borrow another page from their book.
