I am a fan (and you should be too), because... I finally found music my kids can listen too and I can know that they are not being taught something they shouldn't in the lyrics. Being a mom of a 14 year old girl, a 7 year old girl and a 6 year old boy is a adventure just by itself. But trying to filter what my 14 year old listens to and trying not to let my 7 year old absorbe it and then repeat it, is so hard these days. I'm so tired of hearing artists suggest that you " back this up" or " shake this that way", " smoke this" ,"drink that". I just want my kids to enjoy music and learn that it can be a great thing and can be fun and entertaining without the rude and crudeness. Daughtry is a great bunch of guys who I am not afraid to let my kids listen too. My ring tone is "It's not over" and they sing as soon as they hear it, every word. My 14 year old daughter and I just went to the Greensboro show last week and that was the first time that she and I had gotten to do something just the two of us in months. It was great and she and I had a blast together! We were singing along to every song. My husband is deployed to Iraq so I'm the mom and dad until Jan. 2008. Saturday mornings at our house is cleaning time and we always clean to the VH1 countdown. It dosen't matter where the kids are or what there doing as soon as "It's not over" comes on, here they come a runnin' to the living room, singin at the top of there lungs and Tata my 7 year old plays a mean air guitar. It's so funny and makes me feels so good that they enjoy the same music mom does. During this time of being stretched between school, home and being a mom and a dad it's good to have something that we all enjoy and relate to. My 14 year old and I especially have kind of grown apart some in the past few months. So that Greensboro show was a life saver. She's not old enough to go to the Raleigh show but she'll see you at Wilmington. She and I have another mom & daughter date. And she's excited! April 13th is the Raleigh show that's my 10 year anniversary present from my hubby. He can't be here on April 15th ( our Anniversary) so I'm celebrating my Anniversary with girlfriends and of course with DAUGHTRY! Thank you guys for being great role models in a world where there is not many to choose from. And thanks for helping this family get through a hard time with out dad. We wish him "HOME" very soon.
Daughtry's music has given me my perfect movie moment. I've always wanted to be in the family who is singing and dancing around the house together in the movies. Now I have that family, thanks to Daughtry and their music.
The last time I bought a CD and liked every song on it was when I was 13 and they didn't even have CDs then they had tapes!
