I'm a fan for many reasons.... where to begin???
Well, the first things I noticed about Chris Daughtry on American Idol... his unique voice that always sounded great no matter what song he was singing, he always dressed and looked so laid back, but still had his own style so to speak (compared with the other contestants). And also, I couldn't help but love the fact he is a North Carolina man!! I'm not far from his NC hometown, and to think a person so talented could have been right in front of me and I didn't even know it... it's amazing really. Everything happens for a reason, and I believe "Daughtry" is the reason behind what happened towards the end of the American Idol season. Myself, as well as many other Daughtry fans I'm sure, were so disappointed when Chris was voted off... but little did we know this would work out just the right way. The results.... a truly awesome band with a consistent performance who really know how to keep their fans happy and wanting more.
Another huge reason I absolutely love Daughtry.... You know when you go buy a CD (actually buy it cause you want to support the band, not illegally download the CD)... So you go buy a CD, and you are scanning through the songs, and then after a few times of listening to the CD, you realize which songs you like and which songs you like to skip when making a playlist. Well, NOT WITH DAUGHTRY!!! I have never bought a CD that you can listen to the entire album, over and over, and NEVER want to hit the "next track" button. And I think that's one reason many people don't purchase an artist's album, especially if they only have one song that is played on the radio that's a big hit. But I am so glad Daughtry didn't go that route. I keep the album around for everything, the commute to work, cleaning the house, walking the dog; Daughtry goes with pretty much anything!
I haven't had the honor of meeting the guys of Daughtry yet... but I can tell from the fans on this website that they are very personable. That is something that usually doesn't happen with such an internationally famous band, but I think it's the North Carolina roots coming out. Just kidding!
I am a huge Daughtry fan from the beginning and will be as long as you guys keeping making music, and I will keep BUYING the albums! It's great to be a fan of a group that also keeps their fans updated with what is going on in their tours, shows, appearances, etc. It really does make you seem more like "friends" to us fans than a famous group who is living life in the spotlight. Besides the great music and entertaining performances you guys keep pumping out, it's great to feel like we are a part of your lives. Thanks for the first awesome album, and I'll be waiting on the next one! It's going to be hard to top the first, but I have confidence that it will be just as good. Keep up the great work! See you in Greensboro!
